Sinn Fein irrevocably emerged as a major player in Dublin politics,one that will have important and lasting consequences for the future structure and coherence of the United Kingdom itself.

The UK having gone through its own recent GE2019 in December still under the antiquated,shambolic FPTP system where a single party can emerge with an overall parliamentary majority of 80 seats having garnered around 30% of the votes cast contrasts unfavourably with Ireland's multi-member constituencies with proportional representation /preference voting that seems entirely ,rationally superior and reflective of and responsive to actual political preferences of the electorate.

The Brexit -powered revolution has a long way to go yet,but its initial dynamic cannot now be countermanded.In its wake as an ineluctable outcome,the UK's over-centralised government and administrative apparatus shall change and evolve.

More or less in some cogent and popularly acceptable fashion if we are fortunate.

Then again,given the UK's chequered history on such matters,perhaps not.

In these historically significant periods of imminent transition,giving the go-ahead to vainglorious, metropolitan elitist,crony-corporate capitalist white elephant projects aka HS2 is not what London ought to be concentrating on or doing.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:00 PM) – British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has stated that the United Kingdom has no intention of supporting the rebuilding of Syria as long as Syrian president Bashar al-Assad remains in power.
The former mayor of London made the remarks during a meeting with nations that supported anti-Assad forces during the Syrian Civil War, in the fringe of a United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York on Monday.
Johnson even stated that not only would the UK refuse any development aid for the reconstruction of Syria after the end of the war, but so would any of the other states that sided with Syrian rebels in past. This would include the United States, France, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, all of whom had representatives in the meeting that Johnson spoke to.

“We believe that the only way forward is to get a political process going and to make it clear to the Iranians, Russians and Assad regime that we, the like-minded group, will not support the reconstruction of Syria until there is such a political process and that means, as Resolution 2254 says, to a transition away from Assad,” Johnson said.

 

Interestingly, the UN Resolution 2254 that was voted into effect in 2015, makes no mention whatsoever of the removal of Assad from power, contrary to what Boris Johnson seemed to imply.

Johnson’s statement seems to contradict earlier statements by representatives from other former anti-Assad states. US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Satterfield earlier stated that “there has got to be a political process if there is to be any international participation in the reconstruction of Syria,” seemingly supporting the Russian mediated peace negotiations going on in Astana currently.

They concocted, ( sorry conducted ) a survey that was meant to somehow meant to be authoritative and credible and impress anyone with an intellectual attention span less than an amoeba.

The survey covered, they claimed, 627 companies from across trade bodies such the Association of Labour Providers, the British Beer and Pub Association, the British Hospitality Association, the Food and Drink Federation, and the Fresh Produce Consortium.

Nearly a third of respondents to the survey, conducted between March and May, said some EU staff had already departed.

" Some EU staff  ", this isn't admissible,verifiable empirical data from which one might draw a conclusion,is it ?

 

While the UK's economy has slowed sharply this year, evidence that the Brexit vote made an impact on the labour market is less clear.

Less clear? than what ? the ephemeral " Some EU staff " ?

 

The Chief Spokesdroid for this intellect-free,integrity-lite survey , Andrew Opie, director of food and sustainability at the British Retail Consortium made the following pronouncement to the effect that:-

Around a fifth of the 2 million EU nationals working in the UK are employed in the food and drink supply chain.

36% of companies in the survey said their businesses would be unviable without access to EU workers.

 

So,the British Retail Consortium has issued a threat against Her Majesty's democratically constituted government,that should the  brexit process be carried out to its agreed conclusion,i.e. departure from the shackles of the EU,then the entire food supply chain for the population of the UK will be existentially imperiled by Companies withdrawing themselves from the supply infrastructure. Is that what Opies meant to say?

 

It seems that the egregiously  exploitative Agencies ZeroHours Contracts that for decades have underpinned the systemically lazy,stupid,greedy,inefficient cheap foreign labour grubbing shennanigans of the UK Food and farming Industry have come home to roost.

ISIS AND ‘MODERATE REBELS’ UNITE EFFORTS AGAINST SYRIAN ARMY IN EASTERN HAMA COUNTRYSIDE. GOVT FORCES COUNTER-ATTACK

 Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allied groups of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have united efforts with ISIS in an attempt to cut off the Salamiyah-Ithriyah-Khanassir-Aleppo road, the only government supply line to Aleppo city.

On August 23 and August 24, HTS artillery units conducted a massive bombardment campaign shelling Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions along the road. At the same time, ISIS attacked the SAA at Wadi al-Adib and Shayk Hilal and even temporarily cut off the road near as-Saan.
Pro-militant sources, including the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), claimed that the SAA suffered a number of tactical setbacks and that ISIS could use the situation in order to recapture a large area in the Uqayrabat pocket.
However, then reports started appearing that the SAA, the Qalamoun Shield Forces and the National Defense Forces (NDF), backed up by Russian attack helicopters, launched a counter-attack in the area and recaptured some points that had been lost to terrorists.
Clashes are ongoing. The situation remains tense.

It's only a few short weeks ago that the CIA ( aren't they part of the US state ? ) announced its withdrawal of military support for the ragbag coalition of forces commonly referred to as the Free Syrian Army. Then again elements of the US military are still actively stationed inside fortified installations inside Syria assisting and advising the very same FSA.

Meanwhile the clowns of the Turkish regime's governing elite have let it be known that they are mightily displeased with the US continuing its support- military and financial to the YPG ,the Syrian Kurdish faction who themselves co-operate with some elements of the FSA.

Erdogan's genuinely racist,xenophobic authoritarian regime despises the very existence of all Kurds everywhere and considers them an existential threat to his greater Turkey.

There is nobody in Washington, either in the Trump administration itself or amongst the politicians in Congress or amongst the Military/Security apparatus, who has ever been called upon to debate and explain in public the strategic rationale and constitutional justification for the US opposing the legitimate sovereign state of Syria and for supporting Al Qaeda and ISIS.

Efforts by Hungary and Poland to control funds directed to NGOs are blocking negotiations over the renewal of a €1 billion Norwegian scheme to support civil society.
The Central European governments want to take funds from organisations supporting women, gay people and the homeless, among others.

Norway has refused to give in to such demands, meaning that negotiations are stuck.
"The situation is very unclear. In the worst case, the whole support scheme could be blocked," said Vera Mora from the NGO Okotars, which administered the last Norway grant scheme in Hungary.
Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, in exchange for their access to the EU single market, fund initiatives aimed at reducing social and economic disparities in poorer EU member states.
Norway is by far the biggest donor of the so-called EEA funds, doling out some 96 percent of the money.
Poland is the largest beneficiary, followed by Romania and Hungary.
Under the next scheme, which runs until 2021, Poland stands to receive €809 million, Hungary €215 million.

The funds cover some shortfalls in healthcare budgets and help companies to adopt green technologies. They pay for the upkeep of cultural heritage sites and fund research projects.
Roughly 10 percent of the cash is dedicated to independent support of civic society, a mandatory part of programme.
In Poland, the Law and Justice (PiS) government has formally announced that it would like the money to be channelled through a government body - although they have yet to establish the body.

And frankly my dear that is quite outrageous! especially given that a strand of contentious opinion on #Brexit recommends that the UK go the EEA route to maintaining Single market access once we have actually exited the EU !! The police and Crown Prosecution Service have agreed a common definition of hate incidents.

They say something is a hate incident if the victim or anyone else think it was motivated by hostility or prejudice based on one of the following things:

religion
transgender identity
sexual orientation.
This means that if you believe something is a hate incident it should be recorded as such by the person you are reporting it to. All police forces record hate incidents based on these five personal characteristics.

Subsequently pilloried across social media was an Oxford academic, Joshua Wilson, who had made the original complaint against the Home Secretary.It emerged that the aforementioned Physicist had not himself listened to the " offensive " words uttered by Amber Rudd at the time. During the course of the Conservative Party's annual conference in a major platform speech on future prospects and possibilities for the UK labour market once #brexit had actually been achieved,Rudd put forward the proposition that British jobs might go first to British workers. This jobs preference for the British in their own country, by the by has never actually happened in practice,but the idea is probably going to gain genuine appreciable traction some time soon.

Amid the unabated chaos and carnage presently reverberating around the Middle East and across the continent of Europe, one item of note eclipses the rest.  The resignation of Sir Ivan Rogers, the bloke who was UK ambassador to the EU.  I use the term " bloke " deliberately in that off hand, non-deferential manner to indicate a certain sang-froid  toward the entire business and existence of the EU and those who have dealings with it. After all, 30 pieces of silver doesn't buy much these days. Symbolic rather than authentically substantive, all 28 satrapies send an ambassador to the halls of the very supra-continental power that has subsumed them. In Britain's case not only is it now more than ever wholly superfluous ; what is the point since we're leaving, adieu,thanks for all the whatever it is that we deluded ourselves into believing that we had obtained these past 40 odd years. Apart from nothing. Naturally the extremist and increasingly marginalised euro-zealots and seditionist misfits and cranks who still cling to the floating wreckage of their sunken megalomaniacal dream of Ein Reich,Ein Europa, shall have cause to lament the exit,stage left of that minor character part. Gone and never appreciated. Given the relative obscurity of this minor character actor's part in The Great Farce, it is an unprecedented feat of embellishment and transcendent political hyperbole that the Remain camp has escalated this microbial occurrence into some kind of faux-significance for the rest of us. Bravo, Herr Von Klegg and the retinue of scurrying like-minded euro-vassals who have bled their insufferable pristine consciences all over the airwaves in a valiant last ditch attempt to make us feel pangs of what they might call guilt. Here we go, again! Or almost. An emergency Commons debate on the topic of , however you wish to describe it, Aleppo. Called by the Tory MP Andrew Mitchell, the debate attracted the attendance of 70 MPs.  And as usual the cries of something needs to be done, has to be done resounded to the echo. Deja Vu has seldom been so much in evidence in the Commons.They debated Aleppo fairly recently and the same faux-concerns of our metropolitan-domiciled political class were thoroughly rehearsed for the cameras. An odd symmetry of Tories clinging onto the last vestiges of a grasp of global Realpolitik on the one hand waylayed by the strident / bellicose utterances of born-again Blairites whose lack of practical military /logistics knowledge was woefully in evidence. Clowns in Chief Johnson and Osborne did some desultory limp moral shroud waving by asserting that had parliament in 2013 opted for a military intervention of some kind or another at that time, Aleppo would not now be an issue. Don't ask; it wasn't supposed to make any sense whatsoever even at the time. Unless, of course the real intent behind all and any calls for any intervention in the Syrian Civil War is to goad Russia into a premature globalised conflict aka WW3. Surely not?

A couple of days ago,worldwide mainstream media platforms were alive with the " news " that the European Union's " Parliament "  called for the suspension of EU membership talks with Turkey. 479 in favor, 37 against, 107 abstentions. Scary.

The parliament is the most moribund and redundant of all the multi-headed EU Hydra's appendages.  The Hydra that constitutes that monumental obscenity of international politics, the European Union. Kleptocracy, nepotism,corruption and incompetence are its true four fundamental characteristics. Quite what business its dysfunctional castrato chamber of deputies manque has in censuring the sovereign,democratic nation state of Turkey - or anywhere else for that matter - is beyond the intellectual capacity of most sentient and rational beings on this planet to comprehend. EP ( european parliament ) has pretensions way beyond its capacities ever to realise them.It may as a body, scrutinise and debate and recommend but it does so void of any institutional power and authority. The one thing EP does do with remarkable alacrity, devoid of any grasp or understanding of global Realpolitik, is pass Motions declaring this,that and t'other. The failing,western pluralist democratic consensus around neoliberalism, neoCon military intervention and dishing out economic sanctions is at the very heart of EP. Sovereign nation states such as Turkey are deemed to be " out of order " for acting in the defence of  their own legitimate interests. Arresting newspaper editors, closing oppositional TV stations ,restricting the rights of communities openly colluding with terrorist insurgents might all be " unacceptable " to the political classes and Commentariat in Sweden or Germany, but what exactly the hell else do they expect from a government headed by President Erdogan?  the only mystery here is why does the leadership in Turkey persist with an essentially delusional policy of wishing to join and integrate with the european union? An orientation toward the nascent Shanghai Cooperation Organisaton of China,Russia and four former central Asian soviet republics would make far more sense. There you go. Oh and since the USA and its EUNATO satrapies extirpated Saddam Hussain's Iraq and Qadaffi's Libya and just about did the same to Assad's Syria, the only bulwark against totally catastrophic unrestricted mass migration into continental europe is now to all practical intents and purposes, Erdogan's Turkey. A Presidential election is held in line with the nation's Constitution and a verdict is delivered by the Electorate in accordance with the provisions of electoral rules. So, what do " activists ", ideological agitators and hostile media commentators ( all who supported the losing candidate ) do in response ? Organise street protests that escalate into full blown rioting. Oh, and this from the likes of Daily Kos on social media :-

" Donald Trump has won the presidency after narrowly carrying a few states to put him above 270 electoral votes.

But according to the latest numbers, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. The game is rigged.

In other words, we have a similar situation as in 2000—where the candidate who more voters picked did not become president. It is unfair, undemocratic & we must eliminate the Electoral College.

Eliminating the Electoral College does not even require a constitutional amendment."

Undermine, subvert and seek to overthrow those processes and procedures that have heretofore been universally accepted as legitimate. Isn't that fascist? Aren't those carrying out all of this fascists?

The similarities between the events across many cities in the USA and the reactions in the UK to the EU Referendum verdict in favour of #Brexit are all too striking. Violent rioting aside for the moment, the political intent behind seeking to de-legitimise the Electorate's verdict on both sides of the Atlantic spring from the same intolerant,totalitarian ideological mindset. The stench of antidemocratic sedition is apparent for all to smell.

On Thursday 23rd. June I went to bed fully persuaded that,much as I wanted it to, #Brexit wasn't going to happen and that on waking up on the morning of Friday 24th. I'd be assailed by the smug triumphalist tones of Remainers on Radio 4. Waking much earlier than usual,I turned the radio on and.. History had happened.  Pretty much the same routine occurred last night. I woke up around 02:00 GMT Wednesday 9th. November was dawning with self-confident,self-satisfied Democrat Party notables and appartchiks foretelling the inevitability of a Clinton coronation. Getting back to sleep with an oh well,never mind,World War 3's on its way then, I looked forward to carrying on with the quotidian when I got up nearer my regular time. And then, History happened,again.  June 24 gave me an epiphany and that was repeated around 06.30 this very morning. The US establishment elites and the incumbent political class and the Commentariat and all the experts just got hammered into the ground,again just as their counterparts were on June 23 in Great Britain. Joy unspeakable, or nearly so! Not that our indigenous antidemocratic,anti working class seditionist law breaking scum such as #LabourIn and their Remain Axis partners wasted any time at all on BBC Radio 4 in slandering and heaping opprobrium onto the newly elected President Trump and all those who voted for him. C'est la guerre. Hubris is bad enough, but with the failed multiculturalist,open borders, EU supremacist,pro-sodomite,unborn child murdering,PC labour/liberal metropolitan elites hubris is endemic. October 28,2016; it's 128 days since the EU Referendum. The putative war crimes suspect Blair appeared on BBC Radio 4's flagship breakfast news programme, " Today  " at just after 8 a.m. And the Merde has been raining down ever since across all media platforms.  The defeated Remain campaign has gone into full zombie mode; the campaign lost,was beaten, got less votes than the opposing campaign etc.etc. The trouble is, thanks to 200+ unreconstructed #LabourIn MPs who were the beating heart that gave actual life to Remain, those 200 won't lie down. And now Blair has decided to join in the contrived mayhem and faux-debate over the triggering of Article 50 and commencement of #Brexit.

Blair does certainly know all about playing with fire.And he couldn't care less about who it is that gets incinerated. The perversity emerging out this imbroglio for  #Labour is particularly ironic. Since it is above all the pronounced anti-blairites who have been carrying out and promoting his views on the  #EU more so than the MPs who claim to be Blair's acolytes. Either way, Labour as a Party deserves to burn for all of this; Left,right and centre. #Brexit has created the opening for such a historic event to take place. Sediton itself brings about the end of  the seditionists.
