The Remain campaign proved, by the proverbial country mile,to be the ones lacking any pretence at dispassionate analyses and academic rigour. He's given £ 1 million of his own money to #PeoplesVote aka #OpenBritain aka #LabourIn to be used for..wait for it... YouGov another cabal of EU funded Labour shills to conduct polling around the agitation for a 2nd referendum which they're not calling a referendum.

Obviously the first referendum doesn't count,didn't count because of all the lies told,information withheld and anyway the question asked was the wrong one etc.etc. and next time they'll be a multiple choice questionnaire on the ballot paper; the only difficulty for PeoplesVote is in figuring out the precise,legalistic,sub-claused,nuanced array of choices and their complex grammatical structures that on balance will get the majority to in effect annul the decision they made on June 23 2016.

Several weeks have now passed since Merkel's ruling CDU/CSU regime suffered a significant reversal of fortune at the German Bundestag elections.

That damage was primarily inflicted by the emergence of the AfD who smashed their way into national federal contention with 12% of votes cast and the concomitant losses of the SPD who plummeted to a post-1945 electoral nadir.

All this left Frau Merkel floundering at a disadvantage in a morass of political,factional horse trading that was supposed to lead to the formation of a new and dynamically unstable governing coalition.Which the newly reinvigorated FDP then proceeded to spectacularly torpedo with all the acumen and elan of a U-Boot menacing a hospital ship.

For all the deserved vituperative mockery heaped on hapless,spineless ,creedless May for her doldrumesque clarion calls for a strong and stable government; Merkel careered spectacularly into the same briar patch with all the alacrity of a Panzer blasted off its caterpillar tracks.

Which is all rather fortuitous for the prospects of the Brexit negotiations,assuming of course that May's failed pantomime troupe actually do manage something more vigorous in their approach than a white flag as has been the case thus far.

Still,Merkel sinking and the Teutons floundering do send a welcome shudder of Schadenfreude throughout the spectating multitudes.

They concocted, ( sorry conducted ) a survey that was meant to somehow meant to be authoritative and credible and impress anyone with an intellectual attention span less than an amoeba.

The survey covered, they claimed, 627 companies from across trade bodies such the Association of Labour Providers, the British Beer and Pub Association, the British Hospitality Association, the Food and Drink Federation, and the Fresh Produce Consortium.

Nearly a third of respondents to the survey, conducted between March and May, said some EU staff had already departed.

" Some EU staff  ", this isn't admissible,verifiable empirical data from which one might draw a conclusion,is it ?

 

While the UK's economy has slowed sharply this year, evidence that the Brexit vote made an impact on the labour market is less clear.

Less clear? than what ? the ephemeral " Some EU staff " ?

 

The Chief Spokesdroid for this intellect-free,integrity-lite survey , Andrew Opie, director of food and sustainability at the British Retail Consortium made the following pronouncement to the effect that:-

 

An abrupt reduction in the number of EU workers eligible to work in the UK after Brexit would result in significant disruption for the entire food supply chain and that this would have consequences for the availability and price of food in Britain.

 

Around a fifth of the 2 million EU nationals working in the UK are employed in the food and drink supply chain.

36% of companies in the survey said their businesses would be unviable without access to EU workers.

 

So,the British Retail Consortium has issued a threat against Her Majesty's democratically constituted government,that should the  brexit process be carried out to its agreed conclusion,i.e. departure from the shackles of the EU,then the entire food supply chain for the population of the UK will be existentially imperiled by Companies withdrawing themselves from the supply infrastructure. Is that what Opies meant to say?

I take a certain comfort from imagining just how much more febrile the atmosphere must have been like here in England during the Reformation or the Civil War. Efforts by Hungary and Poland to control funds directed to NGOs are blocking negotiations over the renewal of a €1 billion Norwegian scheme to support civil society.
The Central European governments want to take funds from organisations supporting women, gay people and the homeless, among others.

Norway has refused to give in to such demands, meaning that negotiations are stuck.
"The situation is very unclear. In the worst case, the whole support scheme could be blocked," said Vera Mora from the NGO Okotars, which administered the last Norway grant scheme in Hungary.
Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, in exchange for their access to the EU single market, fund initiatives aimed at reducing social and economic disparities in poorer EU member states.
Norway is by far the biggest donor of the so-called EEA funds, doling out some 96 percent of the money.
Poland is the largest beneficiary, followed by Romania and Hungary.
Under the next scheme, which runs until 2021, Poland stands to receive €809 million, Hungary €215 million.

The funds cover some shortfalls in healthcare budgets and help companies to adopt green technologies. They pay for the upkeep of cultural heritage sites and fund research projects.
Roughly 10 percent of the cash is dedicated to independent support of civic society, a mandatory part of programme.
In Poland, the Law and Justice (PiS) government has formally announced that it would like the money to be channelled through a government body - although they have yet to establish the body.

And frankly my dear that is quite outrageous! especially given that a strand of contentious opinion on #Brexit recommends that the UK go the EEA route to maintaining Single market access once we have actually exited the EU !! As a rule of thumb, the further east and south you go across the continent of europe the greater the incidence of systemic corruption within EU member states. And so we're back to history being repeated as farce in this current period up to and including June 8 ,2017. Not only #Labour but the cretinoid LibDems, the SNP and Sinn Fein are all re-running their anti #brexit campaigns from last Summer. Corbyn and his monstrous regiments of essentially irritating yet ineffectual poseurs are repeating the same otiose cant of wanting to keep the UK in the EU single market and the customs union. Here's a prediction.It's Nostradamus time again! Just kidding, honest. To the matter in hand; the French Presidential elections are up and coming, with the first round of voting on April 23 and the decisive run-off between the two leading candidates from round one on May 7. Marine LePen, the leader of the populist Front National  is going to be one of the two candidates on May 7, she might even emerge however marginally as the highest scoring candidate on April 23. Her long hoped for success will be predicated on the as yet unquantified subterranean  tectonic shift in politics,the same shift that has brought about #brexit in Britain and catapulted Trump into the White House. One thing that is guaranteed to intensify and then go into hyperbolic overdrive between April 23 and May 7 is the collective, voluble hissy fit that's going to bellow forth from the Left all across the decrepit, moribund western faltering democratic world. Clearly these last couple of days have been one elongated mainstream media straw -man jousting tournament. Britain was threatening possible military action against Spain over Gibraltar! or maybe it wasn't,but Gibraltar did get a mention in the EU's negotiating procedures document vis a vis the UK's Article 50 exit. Within the EU's document the Spanish government would be guaranteed some kind of definitive say over the future status of Gibraltar once the UK has exited the EU. Or possibly not, depending on how excruciatingly nuanced an interpretation EU theologians-manque could possibly contrive from the words actually written. The massed ranks of seditionist EU shills in all their guises immediately seized upon the apparently bellicose and intemperate responses from various former Tory government ministers to this allegedly diplomatic faux-pas occasioned by the beleaguered Spanish government. The Straw Man was now fully animated. Lazy faux-journalism coupled with superficial news reporting and the repetition of kneejerk off the cuff responses added to the less than entirely convincing imbroglio. If this was supposed to be a bone being thrown to the rabid pack of seditionist dogs to feast off,then evidently there wasn't enough meat on it to last more than a sniff and a lick. There is something ineluctably disturbing, frightening indeed, if one were given over to actually being susceptible to such feelings, about the self-styled Remain campaign. I'm sure the Papists and their deluded and cretinous acolytes and lackeys made pretty much the same kind of interminable moaning and groaning throughout the process of The Reformation. There were at least laws about such behaviour back then, nowadays we just have to grin and bear at as best as possible seeing as how the 48%, the seditionists of #LabourIn #AnotherEurope etc. have already LOST.  The Remainers' multiplicity of Popular Front-manque entities fronted by a plethora of agitators and shills such as #GinaMiller managed to have the 23 June 2016 referendum result dragged before the Courts,twice and subsequently scrutinised and voted upon as a legislative Bill by both Houses of Parliament. And They still LOST! There will be no Counter-Reformation. March 29th. is irreversible. Though one fears that the EU backed, Soros funded greek chorus of moaning and causing an unseemly fuss is likely to continue unabated for quite some considerable time yet, with yet more contrived impudent challenges via the judiciary and its revisionist and counter revolutionary apparatus. The only worthwhile and effective response of course is to pay those seditionists back double for every blow, insult and calumny they hurl at #brexit. History can be a pretty unpleasant and unforgiving phenomenon, especially if you happen to be caught up right in the middle of one of its more visceral convulsions. But that is History. It is futile to pretend that some ethereal dispassionate calm and reason ever altered let alone effectively influenced anything or any worthwhile course of action in the pursuit of some destiny or other. Losers do not get to write the definitive version, the history if you will, of whatever they've just been part of losing. Were it otherwise, imagine the interminable anarchy of parliamentary elections if after each one in turn the losing parties refused steadfastly to accept the outcome and thence ceaselessly campaign to overturn not only the very result they'd previously agreed to accept,but then mount agitation to re-run the election they'd just been beaten in. #UniteForEurope aka #MarchForEurope the  self-styled delusional Popular Fronts-manque, of the metastising seditionist,metropolitan elitist led Remain campaign are engaged in political nihilism unprecedented in modern British History. One week today, on the 29th of March Article 50 will be formally triggered by HMG. A letter will be presented to the Grand Panjandrum of Greater Ruritania aka the President of the EU Council, Donald Tusk. Presumably once he has opened the letter and read it, he will remark," Well bloody hell they could've told me earlier!" or words to that effect.  And that's about it then, off we jolly well go into the clear blue yonder with a knapsack on our back and a care free optimism in our hearts. Either that or  a tsunami of a diplomatic shitstorm will descend us precipitatley.Too close to call which is the likelier. Things in general won't change if at all in the prevailing atmosphere of rancour  fuelled by the ancien regime and its ravening mobs of stymied seditionists. Still, they do keep us entertained however vicariously by their innate stupidity. Mhairi Black the 22 year old SNP MP in the course of bemoaning HMG's perceived air of disdain toward the lunatic ramblings of the devolved parliament in Edinburgh, opined that it was unfair that London has more MPs than all of Scotland. Well, that went rather badly..The Dutch general election all done and dusted. The heretofore ruling party of Premier Rutte lost around 20% of its parliamentary seats;whilst the once predominant Labour Party was virtually annihilated at the polls and Geert Wilders' populist Freedom Party gained a hand full of seats. The unanimous verdict and widely trumpeted conclusion of all the pundits,experts and analysts in the MSM (Mainstream Media) therefore, was that the " winner " was declared as being the incumbent Premier Rutte who valiantly and decisively saw off the imminent threat of populism and struck a blow for tolerant,multiculturally inclusive PC Europe. Wow!! even after losing 20% of their seats. The putative populist " threat " ,i.e. islamophobic,xenophobic,racist anti-EU Geert Wilders was soundly defeated!! after gaining a few more seats than previously. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. It is compulsory to maintain two mutually contradictory thoughts at the same time. Wilders is Goldstein. Meanwhile in the eminently more rational and plausible alternate timeline of recent events; Erdogan's grotesque theatrics and accompanying soundtrack of specious hyperbole over the Netherlands refusal to allow Turkish government Ministers to conduct political referendum rallies in Rotterdam is finally catalogued under the heading S for Sham. Even now the Bulgarian government is embroiled in a vigorous exchange of invective with Turkey over Turkish attempts to meddle in the Bulgarian electoral process. Quite what connection that has to this sudden and unexpected retreat of the forces of Populism across an entire make believe and materially non-existent single  " european " polity is anyone's guess.
