Althusser said something about it all, how we as individual human beings - in a society conformed to capitalist norms - locate ourselves in imaginary relationships and are defined by them.Well, something along those lines. We are,for example continually referred to and defined - both individually and collectively - as consumers. We are treated as customers, shoppers, visitors etc. when engaging in various and diverse forms of socio-economic activity as defined by and predicated upon the predominant ,hegemonic capitalist mode of production and the relations of production which arise from its inherent logic and purposes.  We are accorded or even more fancifully , " given " Rights. We are entered into " Contracts ".regulatory means of social control and conformity where in practice we have no actual choice, given that we are required necessarily to enter into such contractual relations albeit, universally with superficial understanding and what generally passes for consent. Silence is indeed taken as agreement. How, from a predominantly Usurer-Capitalist set of norms and their attendant rationale could it be otherwise ? Bloody hell ,there'd be vast swathes of autonomy,anarcho-syndicalism and all sorts of divisive, revolutionary non-capitalist norms and practices and means and mechanisms of egalitarian co-operation springing up all over the place. Can't have that, can we ? The objective,historical-materialist truth is.. that.. yes we can! The sooner the better for the 99% of mankind.

And How Was The Referendum Process For You ?
On June 23rd.2016AD WE the British Electorate get to cast our vote on whether to remain enslaved behind the barbed-wire of the EU Kz or opt to leave and walk out from under the EU's, " Arbeit Macht Frei "sign.
Referendums though are a tricky thing, especially when it comes to expecting the Kommissars of Strassbourg to respect let alone abide by the outcomes of referendums where those very outcomes weren't the ones foreseen by the Thaumaturgists of Brussels.
Every Treaty ,every amendment to a Treaty, every nationally conferred campaign on a referendum to ratify a Treaty or an amendment has been systematically subjected to the most reprehensible propagandistic interference and attempts at subversion that the European Union has been able to deploy. The once and former sovereign and democratic national states of Ireland and Denmark have suffered more than even Britain from the unashamed and blatant finagling orchestrated by the EU.
Herewith a brief historical resume.
The Irish referendum on the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe was a vote that was planned but did not occur. The referendum was expected to take place in 2005 or 2006 to decide whether Ireland should ratify the proposed EU Constitution. Following the rejection of the Constitution by voters in the French referendum of May 2005 and the Dutch referendum of June 2005, the planned Irish referendum was postponed indefinitely.

Lisbon Treaty

The rejection of the Constitution by French and Dutch voters halted the ratification process. As support by all members was required the Constitution was dropped and in July 2007 theEuropean Council agreed upon the foundation of a new treaty to replace the rejected Constitution. The text agreed upon at the European Council meeting on 18 and 19 October 2007 contained many of the planned changes of the Constitution but would not replace the existing treaties, as the Constitution would have done, but amended them. Before this Reform Treaty of Lisbon was signed on 13 December 2007
The first referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon held on 12 June 2008 was rejected by the Irish electorate, by a margin of 53.4% to 46.6%, with a turnout of 53%.[5]
The second referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon held on 2 October 2009 and the proposal was approved by 67.1% to 32.9%, with a turnout of 59%.
In Denmark, two referendums had to be held before the treaty of Maastricht passed. The first was held on 2 June 1992, had a turnout of 82.9% but approval of the treaty of Maastricht was denied by a slim margin, with only 49.3% in favour of the treaty.
The failure resulted in the Edinburgh Agreement, a deal which accepted the Danish “national compromise” and kept Denmark within the EU, on condition that the country was granted exemptions, so called “opt-outs”, on four areas of cooperation: the adoption of the euro, security and defence, justice and home affairs (JHA), and EU citizenship.
With the addition of the Edinburgh Agreement, new referendum was held on 18 May 1993. There was a turnout of 85.5% of which the 56.8% voted in favour of the renegotiated treaty. The four opt-outs have since defined – and to an increasing degree limited - Denmark’s participation in the European integration process.
The controversy around these exemptions has long been a focal issue in the Danish EU-debate. A referendum in 2000 already rejected a proposal to introduce the euro.
On December 3, 2015 , 53% of Danish voters rejected a proposal of six parliamentary parties to replace Denmark’s long-standing opt-out from the EU’s justice and home affairs system with a case-based opt-in model.
The yes-vote would have ensured sustained participation in Europol, the EU’s police agency, plus the adaption of 22 additional legislative files. What started out as a practical issue became a general opinion poll on relations with the Union with likely impacts on Danish EU policy.
June 23rd. is going to turn out to have been a very interesting day indeed.

The Commentariat, let alone government ministers and their spin doctors, talk about the operation and workings of the capitalist economic system as if it were some esoteric mystery religion. And given the average attention span and genuine lack of interest / engagement amongst the general public in what appear to be such weighty matters ,it comes as no surprise that the High Priests and Acolytes of Capitalism ( capitalist economics, the capitalist system et al ) get away with basically spouting gibberish on all matters to do with economics. Gleaned from the Daily Telegraph the other day, this rather neat little precis about National Debt, borrowing and the basic functioning of capital markets. Please take especial note of the opening paragraph. -
Another option is to inflate away the nation’s debts. By increasing the amount of money in supply, debasing the currency, and in turn stoking inflation, the Government’s debts can be rendered meaningless.
However, very high inflation has other costs. It can make doing business very difficult, as prices are constantly adjusting, and also wipes out the value of savings. As such, episodes of “hyperinflation” have often been both socially and economically destabilising. Inflating away a nation’s debts is considered a last resort.
It also requires that you are able to issue your own currency. The UK is lucky in this regard; it means it can always avoid defaulting on its debts if it desires.
Eurozone members are not so lucky. Printing money was not an option for Greece, which instead had to go cap in hand to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other creditors.

Is the national debt a problem?

While the outstanding size of the national debt in cash terms may appear alarming, the financial markets, and few economists, are likely to pay attention to this headline figure.
More concern is paid to the national debt’s size compared with the size of the economy, or the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP).
As a share of GDP, the national debt is expected to fall from 83.1pc in the last fiscal year to 82.5pc by the end of the current one, in March. According to the OBR’s latest forecasts, it will continue falling, to 71.3pc by the end of 2020-21.
We can also look at what investors think. If they believed that the Government was in a bad position, with debts so great that it was likely to default on them or that there was a risk it would inflate them away, then the yields paid on UK sovereign bonds would be high.
That is because money managers would demand a high return on the money loaned to the UK government - this is in effect what a bond is, a loan from an investor to the government - in order to compensate them for the risk that they will not be paid back in the future, or that they would be paid back in a devalued currency.
At present, there seems to be little cause for alarm on this metric. Compared with other countries, the return bond holders demand to own a 10-year UK government bond is low, with yields at around 1.6pc. This compares with 1.9pc on an equivalent US Treasury bond.
The yields demanded on the bonds of more imperiled nations are far higher, as often they cannot print the currencies they are issued in. Mexico’s US dollar bonds deliver 4.1pc, Colombia’s 5.3pc, and Brazil’s a staggering 6.8pc.

How can high government debts hamper economies?

Very high Government debt can slow your economy right down.
Borrowing can crowd out other investment, as investors loan their funds to the Government, rather than to private sector borrowers.
Academic research looking at the US has found that raising the Federal deficit may have adverse effects for businesses and households. It can in turn reduce private sector investment, economic growth, and employment.
Large debts may also require higher rates of taxation to pay for them, limiting the Government's ability to cut taxes and stimulate the econmy. One study found that in the UK, a 1pc cut in taxation has tended to stimulate GDP by 0.6pc on impact, and by 2.5pc over the following three years.
There. that wasn't too bad,was it. Not too technical or esoteric. In summation therefore what the Opponents of this entire Ruling Elites' instigated, manufactured and driven game of charades need to bear in mind is,as per the opening paragraph previously flagged up. "Another option is to inflate away the nation’s debts. By increasing the amount of money in supply, debasing the currency, and in turn stoking inflation, the Government’s debts can be rendered meaningless."
Rendered meaningless. Stop accepting the dominant narrative.Opposing and organising to ultimately unseat the Ruling Elites and smash their capitalist system means constructing and promoting an alternate narrative. In the same way that on June 23 this year here in the UK,formerly " great " britain, the electorate has the opportunity to assist in the re-writing of History, to render meaningless the EU and so restore the beginnings of a different narrative in the history of the Long March of Everyman.

I consider Peter Hitchens to be The journalist / columnist non-pareil.I very rarely if ever find myself feeling at odds with what he has to say in his weekly Mail On Sunday column. from his column of  Sunday, 22 February :-
It was fear of shrivelling into nothingness on the edge of Europe that got us into the European Union and I suspect fear of leaving will keep us there.
Quite how we will be able to keep up a fake debate about the subject till late June, I have no idea.
I long ago concluded that I would rather leave, whatever the economic and political cost. I think most of this country’s unique laws and liberty grew up after our break with the Continent under Henry VIII nearly 600 years ago. I think they are worth preserving at practically any cost and, given the chance, I can probably get quite tearful about it.
By far the best, wisest and most far-sighted warning against the European project came from Labour’s Hugh Gaitskell in October 1962, not long before his untimely death.
In a speech that still stands up well more than five decades later, he rightly said two things that should be carved in stone in the heart of our capital.
The first was: ‘Of course, the Tories have been indulging in their usual double-talk. When they go to Brussels they show the greatest enthusiasm for political union.
‘When they speak in the House of Commons they are most anxious to aver that there is no commitment whatever to any political union.’
And the second was: ‘We must be clear about this: it does mean, if this is the idea, the end of Britain as an independent European state. I make no apology for repeating it.
‘It means the end of a thousand years of history. You may say, “Let it end” but, my goodness, it is a decision that needs a little care and thought.’
As for my own personal part , I will Vote to Leave. On pretty much the similar sorts of grounds as PH. Well, perhaps a tad more acerbic. I utterly hate, loathe and despise everything the European Union stands for and does. And it grieves me massively when pseudo-philosiphysing ,semi-intellectual poseurs such as exemplified by Mary Creagh MP for Wakefield ( of all places ) ,prattles on and on and on in a hopelessly erratic and illogical manner attributing a plethora of specious arguments supposedly in favour of the British people remaining subordinate and enslaved to the mad Teutonic EU. June 23rd.2016 will be the Day We take back OUR Country and OUR Inalienable democratic sovereignity. Others are paradoxically at liberty to vote for the continued subjugation of us all  to an alien power - in contravention of OUR own Bill of Rights of 1688.
Me ? I will always choose freedom. Others such can choose their own road to hell.

When US Imperialism through its NATO Satrapies set about destroying the sovereign democratic state of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ,few would have ventured the thought that this belligerent enterprise would become the template of broadly similar projects to be initiated against other sovereign states to whom the US and its coterie of compliant satrapies had voiced their hostility.  Afghanistan ,Iraq, Libya,Ukraine and Syria followed in short order as the Spirit of an mendacious, militant, militarist triumphalism swept through the Western Ruling elites and their governments. They and they alone became the architects ,engineers, financiers  and " builders " of terrorist states and their prodigy. The xenophobic Greater Albanian nationalist terrorist organisation UCKA /KLA attained its  apogee when a peripheral  region of the brutally dismembered FRY was parlayed into a zombie-like quasi-legitimate existence as the State of Kosovo.  The West's ,and in particular the neocons of Washington, psychotic preoccupation with dismantling and reordering the world according to Adam Smith and the precepts and imperatives of global Usurer-Capitalism truly acknowledge no bounds.
Of course,as with all Imperialist warmongers their seemingly unstoppable success contains within it the very seeds of their own and their megalomanic projects' ultimate failure and destruction. it just doesn't appear so to the rest of us here on Planet earth. Syria bleeds, millions are displaced, carnage and chaos motivate entire populations to head for perceived collective safety. Whilst Russia,China,India and vast swathes of Latin American,African and Asian political actors seek to maintain and develop rational and mutually beneficial norms of trade, diplomacy and co-operation ,the US ,UK ,France ,Germany,Turkey and their deluded underlings across the arabian gulf are turning every peaceful scenario into  apocalyptic charnel houses indistinguishable from the wars of conquest from the Middle Ages.
I've gleaned and appended an extract from US/EUNATO 's Chatham House think tank ,one of the most highly regarded intellectual-propaganda bastions of global Usurer-Capitalist Enslavement.
This is what venal amorality smell like.It makes the Nazis 1942 Wannsee conference look pretty small beer.

The meeting was chaired by Elizabeth Wilmshurst. Participants included legal
practitioners, academics, NGOs, and government representatives.
Speakers:
• Alice Lacourt, legal adviser, Foreign and Commonwealth Office
• Ralph Wilde, Reader and Vice Dean for Research, UCL
The discussion following the presentations was held under the Chatham
House Rule. The event was sponsored by Clifford Chance.
Background
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia on 17 February 2008. As David
Miliband noted in his Written Ministerial Statement of 19 February 2008, the declaration proclaims Kosovo as a democratic, secular and multi-ethnic republic and states that its leaders will promote the rights and participation of all communities in Kosovo. The Declaration also contains a unilateral undertaking to implement in full the obligations contained in the Comprehensive Proposal for the Kosovo Status Settlement (the Ahtisaari Plan) made by Martti Ahtisaari, UN Special Envoy for Kosovo, in February 2007, including its extensive minority safeguards. In the declaration Kosovo invited and welcomed an international civilian presence to supervise implementation of the Comprehensive Proposal, an EU rule of law and police mission and a continuation of NATO’s Kosovo Force. The declaration was adopted unanimously by the members of the Kosovo Assembly that were present.
Thirty-nine States have now recognised Kosovo as a State. The United
Kingdom, United States, Turkey and France recognised Kosovo on 18
February 2008, the day after its declaration of independence. Since then
many States have followed suit. As at the date of the meeting two-thirds of the members of the European Union had recognised Kosovo i.e. eighteen member States. In addition, Kosovo has been recognised by all the G7 states, seven Security Council members and more than half of the Council of Europe and OSCE States. Some significant States have, however, not recognised Kosovo. From amongst the members of the European Union Cyprus, Spain, Romania, Slovakia and Greece have not recognised Kosovo .."

UK Polish Migrant Remittances

The figures, compiled by the National Bank of Poland, showed
Polish immigrants sent home almost £1billion in the first three months of this year, 2007 .
The cash taken out of the UK economy would otherwise have been spent in shops, restaurants and other businesses here.
Four years on :-

Poles are sending home £3bn a year...and we pay them £4.5m a week in benefits

Amounting to more than £3billion a year, this shows how much money has been transferred since the European Union expanded to include former Eastern Bloc countries in 2004.
Since then hundreds of thousands of Poles have flocked to Britain and, despite the recession, they are continuing to arrive in their thousands.
And that theft from the British economy alone is multiplied in the broader context of quarterly migrant workers' remittances in the hundreds of millions of Euroes, as recorded by Eurostat for the Polish national economy as a whole :-
Poland Remittances
Add to this singular burden the deadweights of economically backward , systemically corrupt and inefficient Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia ,Slovenia,Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary,Latvia, Estonia,Lithuania all on the remittances gravy train who've cynically and remorselessly exported/dumped their surplus labour -i.e. unemployed millions onto the relatively stronger national economies without hindrance. Whilst the Franco-German Continental Hegemony's pet Euro single currency project has effectively smashed and incapacitated with hyper-austerity :- Greece, Ireland ,Spain,Portugal ,Cyprus.

READ ,CONTEMPLATE & UNDERSTAND.
“Modern man has transformed himself into a commodity; he experiences his life energy as an investment with which he should make the highest profit, considering his position and the situation on the personality market. He is alienated from himself, from his fellow men and from nature. His main aim is profitable exchange of his skills, knowledge, and of himself, his “personality package” with others who are equally intent on a fair and profitable exchange. Life has no goal except the one to move, no principle except the one of fair exchange, no satisfaction except the one to consume.” [Erich Fromm] … and …”Contemporary man is rather like a child of three, who cries for father when he needs him, and otherwise is quite self-sufficient when he can play. In this respect, in the infantile dependence on an anthropomorphic picture of God without the transformation of life according to the principles of God, we are closer to a primitive idolatric tribe than to the religious culture of the Middle Ages.” [Erich Fromm]

Given that all temporal politics are merely the expression of what are essentially ,to use the vernacular , " a load of bollocks " ,it can be deduced that not all political opinions and ideologies are equal and that one has to discern which among the competing ideologically driven and nuanced explanations represents the greater or lesser load of bollocks in any given situation or argument. Open borders or border controls ;free market economics ,state intervention or socialism  and so on and so forth ad infinitum. What trumps all other arguments is the iron law,the inevitable and inexorable Necessity. If you don't call the fire brigade now the whole building will burn down -that is a reasoned response to an unambiguous necessity - a fire ;the question as to whether the fire brigade is run as a public service or not ,does not obviate the need for their to be a fire brigade on duty. You could of course have a situation where there is a general consensus and acceptance that no fire brigade is needed at all ,in which case ownership, control and accountability don't enter the equation. The following is gleaned from a google search,i.e. after practically several minutes of intensive research :-
Necessity
Necessity is the idea that everything that has ever happened and ever will happen is necessary, and can not be otherwise. Necessity is often opposed to chance and contingency. In a necessary world there is no chance. Everything that happens is necessitated.
The great atomist Leucippus stated the first dogma of determinism, an absolute necessity.
"Nothing occurs at random, but everything for a reason and by necessity."
But we must distinguish between this claim of physical necessity and the simpler logical necessity of formal systems.Aristotle's logic defended the logical necessity that only one of two contradictory statements can be true, and the other false. Diodorus Cronus developed the Master Argument to show that only one answer to a question about a future event can be true. Either Yes or No. This led to the Megarian idea of actualism, that there is no future contingency and only one possible future.
Diodorus' paradox was the result of the principle of bivalence or the law of the excluded middle. Only one of two logically contradictory statements can be necessarily true. Aristotle solved the paradox by saying that the truth of statements about the future is contingent on the actual future, as follows,
"A sea battle must either take place tomorrow or not,
but it is not necessary that it should take place tomorrow,
neither is it necessary that it should not take place,
yet it is necessary that it either should or should not
take place to-morrow."(De Interpretatione IX, )
William Pitt the Younger  articulated masterfully that - " Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves ".
Austerity is necessary.Bank bailouts are necessary.Free market capitalist economics are necessary. The Department of Work & Pensions imposing a 13 weeks punitive Sanction by withdrawing your Jobseeker's Allowance is necessary ? The short answer is of course , " No ".None of the preceding is actually necessary. Those in power ,in charge , who control and administer vast labyrinthine bureaucracies get to determine and set the rules of the game.A game you cannot ever win. Well hardly ever ; only 2% of all those ,over 1,000,000 cases annually who have a Welfare Sanction imposed on them get to the Appeal stage , a point in the grinding process that is virtually guaranteed to deliver a decision in the appelant's favour.
Necessity is the benefit -of-hindsight rationale used to dress the infringement of human freedom with a fig leaf of legitimacy and decorum of some due process. To an ever increasing number of the general public at large it seems that those in charge singularly fail to do so competently - hence the continuing albeit fairly residual Appeal outcomes refuting the original fabricated charge/accusation.
The abolition of all welfare sanctions ought to be a necessary demand and integral component of any comprehensive political platform that is opposed to and campaigns against Austerity. At present ,this of course is not the case. That it is not ,is simply another victory for tyranny.A victory facilitated by the creed of slaves who so readily accept their condition .There is and always has been a symbiotic relationship between Tyrants and their Slaves ; in fact one's necessary existence is predicated upon the other's. The  " answer " to Slavery isn't to abolish slavery ;it is for slaves to refuse to act the slave. Just as the  " answer " to the remorseless tyranny of  consumer capitalism isn't to get rid of capitalism, rather it is to begin to refuse to be a passive ,socially conformist consumer. And that makes personal sacrifice a necessary precondition. F*** the mortgage ,f*** the holidays,f*** avarice and greed. Necessity beckons and is never denied.

" May you live in interesting times " , is popularly understood to be a proverb of Chinese origin and it is not meant to wish the hearer of it well.
We do live in such " interesting " times. Global Monopoly Usurer-Capitalism and its Ruling Elites are drowning in maelstrom of their own making.A veritable sea of crises is engulfing them, their institutions and ultimately their hegemony over human society. When History moves on and one epoch is delineated from the preceding one, usually by violence, chaos and all their attendant maladies-political,economic and cultural. It was ever thus ,is currently the triumphantly emerging norm and shall even in future histories be seen as the key performance indicators of what passes in our own mind's eye as " civilisation " on this planet. The trick of course is to try and avoid being underneath when the whole edifice comes crashing down about our ears.Just imagine how the enslaved coolies felt as Rome fell ;who the heck was going to feed them and house them and what sort of future prospects did Rome's demise entail for them.Historical Materialism / Dialectical Materialism, the necessary analytical tools required to extract reasoned and self-evidently valid ,usuable interpretation and understanding from the operation of the iron laws of historical development will tell what you can and ought to expect. It's not thaumaturgy,it's science-and therefore is subject to challenge, falsification and refutation. We are the ones who make history but never in the circumstances of our own choosing ,the very circumstances that in turn determine consciousness which in turn cause us or impel us to act . The 1% ,the Oligarchs ,the super-duper wealthy who have for centuries despoiled, exploited, blighted and eviscerated our world and our societies with their tyranny of socio-economic enslavement, exploitation and insane and unsustainable economic system predicated on the actual thaumaturgy of Usury - THEY too understand and are able to interpret to their own objective Class-defined advantage and benefit ,the laws governing the development and motion of Human history and civilisation . The question which ought to concern the 99% of us,is not whether there is Gravity and if it works or not-but rather who it is that's going to get chucked off the roof of the skyscraper and whose kerr-splat on the pavement below demonstrates the eternal verity that, indeed the law of gravity can be used to our advantage.
A bit like the upcoming referendum on the UK's continued membership of the European Union.Time to put a stop to being the ones whose smashed and wasted lives prove that European Union works .

Friday 5 February 2016

fahrenheit451:012

The poor ,benighted electorate of the formerly " Great " Britain will soon be handed the opportunity to cast their votes in the referendum on the question of  the UK's continued membership of the European Union. Do " We " stay or do " We " leave. ?Unfortunately it's all a load of monumental bollocks. Why ? Because Parliament can at any time vote to leave the EU !! and it could have chosen to do so at any time during the last 40 odd years. This is what www.Parliament.uk says about the Sovereignty of Parliament :-
" Parliamentary sovereignty is a principle of the UK constitution. It makes Parliament the supreme legal authority in the UK, which can create or end any law. Generally, the courts cannot overrule its legislation and no Parliament can pass laws that future Parliaments cannot change. Parliamentary sovereignty is the most important part of the UK constitution.

Parliamentary sovereignty and the UK constitution

People often refer to the UK having an 'unwritten constitution' but that's not strictly true. It may not exist in a single text, like in the USA or Germany, but large parts of it are written down, much of it in the laws passed in Parliament - known as statute law.
Therefore, the UK constitution is often described as 'partly written and wholly uncodified'. (Uncodified means that the UK does not have a single, written constitution.)

Developments affecting Parliamentary sovereignty

Over the years, Parliament has passed laws that limit the application of parliamentary sovereignty. These laws reflect political developments both within and outside the UK.
They include:
  • The devolution of power to bodies like the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly.
  • The Human Rights Act 1998.
  • The UK's entry to the European Union in 1973
These developments do not fundamentally undermine the principle of parliamentary sovereignty, since, in theory at least, Parliament could repeal any of the laws implementing these changes. "
N.B. " Passed laws that limit the application of. . ." and " No Parliament can pass laws that future Parliaments cannot change ".
It is a monstrous lie perpetrated by the Ruling Elites that says our elected representatives in Parliament cannot do this and cannot decide that . It is a grotesque deception which most MPs themselves willingly perpetuate. An absurdist myth has been cultivated and allowed to flourish for decades that forces the rest of us to accept unelected Euro-Kommissars from places such as  Latvia,Poland and Romania of all countries to have a decisive say in the governance of our Sovereign homeland . This nonsense has to end. Pray that it ends soon.

In any war ,you can learn more about how the struggle is actually faring by listening to what your enemies are saying amongst themselves than you ever can from what your allies are telling you. And the remorseless struggle to bring about the dissolution and permanent downfall of the European Union is going very well indeed ; better in fact than any true enemy of this megalomanic Euro-Ruling Elites' project could possibly have dreamt of. The renowned Historian /Commentator and all round anti-wotrking class ,Tory Supremacist Max Hastings bemoans excellently in the DailyUsurer Mail of 3 February :-
" David Cameron today believes himself on the brink of a triumph. His proposed EU renegotiation needs only endorsement at a summit of the other 27 members. This would be followed by a June referendum, ending with an ‘in’ vote that will scupper his foes in Ukip and on the Tory Right.
But what if he is wrong? What if yesterday’s draft settlement, requiring merely a shifting of deckchairs in Brussels, provokes a seismic shift in the British body politic? Read President of the European Council Donald Tusk’s letter, which makes plain how little has changed, for instance on migrants: ‘We need to fully respect the principles of freedom of movement and non-discrimination.’
Most of what Cameron claims to have secured will remain vague aspiration, a country mile from implementation. Who else would trumpet the securing of an ‘emergency brake’ on migrants’ benefits over which he will have little control, or a red card system that requires the support of more than half of our bickering EU neighbours on any given issue?
This much is plain: the sham of a renegotiation, the pretence that the Prime Minister meant what he told us for years about his intention to change our terms of membership of the EU, has spawned a cynicism across the land that will not quickly be dispelled.
No politician dares to tell voters all the truth about difficult issues, because the message would be so bleak that they could never win an election. "
The conclusion is interesting. Life is hard then you die Max.Works alone will not save your tawdry, backwards shitty little futile economic system and all of its petty ,soul -enslaving hierarchies. For all true and genuine enemies and haters of the very concept and existence of this THING calling itself the European Union or any idea even remotely resembling it , it's all rather simple and straightforward. Bury it.There's nothing to be gained ,nor does it make the necessary task any easier by concocting some entirely specious ,pseudo-philosophical / ideological ,grandiose argument over whether  it gets buried in a coffin with ceremony or simply ,as it ought to be ,slung into an anonymous ditch somewhere and urinated over before the last shovelful of earth.
Can you feel the earth beginning to shake and tremble ? I'd get out now before you end up getting buried along with the rest of the legions of the doomed.

I'm fundamentally opposed to the concept and practice of state-approved forced labour.Immediately upon getting referred to Interserve -( the MWA providers in my region ) I raised my objections by phone and email. After Interserve "placed" me with Wakefield & District Health & Community Services Ltd. at their Flutterbuys charity shop. I repeated my objections to them and the shop manager. It was clear that the "work" they wanted me to do over 4 weeks ,30 hours per week, was work that ordinarily they would have to employ someone to do. After taking legal advice ,I informed both Interserve and Flutterbuys that I would despite my personal objection report for my MWA placement ; I also concurrently in anticipation of a 4 weeks placement, set up a dedicated facebook page - " DansLaMerde - My Mandatory Work Activity Placement -which of course served and stills serves as a social media campaign . So I showed up on on April 22 to start MWA and then it went downhill from there. Officially sanctioned on May 20 after an exhaustive round of emails, phone calls and letters to JCP,DWP,the charity etc. I finally won my Appeal at HMCTS,Wakefield on October 1. 2) As regards my personal circumstances ,docked 13 weeks JSA circa £ 910 replaced by 11 weeks hardship circa £ 440 ;I received support and solidarity from a number of sources and contacts across Wakefield that I had developed over many years as a Community and political campaigning activist. Members of the Church I attend ,Destiny Christian Church were exemplary in this respect and Wakefield Trades Union & Socialist Coalition held a leafletting session and demo outside the Flutterbuys shop in June on the "Boycott Workfare" theme. My perspective is that nothing worthwhile can ever be achieved without pain and sacrifice. To have remained silent and compliant would have meant succumbing to Political blackmail. There is absolutely any chance this side of Armageddon of me ever agreeing to kow-tow to a tyrannical regime's Austerity measures. I did actually goad Interserve and the Chief executive of the charity with " I'd rather eat strychnine than do your forced labour scheme, which part of that don't you understand ?". The social media campaign has been amazingly penetrative , a twitter storm in June . consistently 200-300 reached on fb with one post got over 5,000 reached. There is a meticulous record of what I went through in order to win my Appeal. Campaigns such as Boycott Workfare depend on those affected by sanctions to come forward and share their stories. The Class enemy relies heavily on people feeling isolated and hopeless. I was gobsmacked to discover that the DWP routinely issues 1 million sanctions every year and that only 2% make it to Appeal. And when you learn on social media that the Austerity Policies and Welfare Sanctions regimes are virtually identical in Germany and Australia and other " advanced industrialised democracies" then clearly this is a War. La Lotta Continua. This Kafka-esque lunacy can be best summed up when in the first instance the DWP refused to tell me why they were considering sanctioning me ! I had to give them a good reason in writing for them not to sanction me!
Anyhow,hope this is useful,
