Thankfully this is the fifth and final blog post of mine in November on the topic of the General Election .

It really is turning out to be as ineluctably otiose as I'd predicted and feared that it might be.
Amongst the most prominent of hashtags on twitter this morning for example are :- #bbcimpartiality and #labourlies. And that about sums up the state of play in this more than usually cantankerous campaign.

GE 2019 is managing to be even more intellectually indolent than the voters' accustomed expectations of yawning vacuity and cant from all the parties.

No policy statement ,issue of genuine public concern or aspiration for the future has escaped being drowned in the deluge of partisan hyperbole and misdirected drivel, the speakers of which were hoping to make sound something akin to statesman-like rhetoric of great import.Which of course none of it is.

It's way past time that the entire process underwent a Bonfire of the Shibboleths.

Government Spending: the Details

About 79 percent of public spending comes from the central government; About 21 percent is spent by local authorities.

The central government is budgeted to spend £667.7 billion in FY 2020. Pension programs, including the state pension and civil service pensions, will cost about £161.1 billion; health care and the NHS will cost £143 billion; defence, including the Ministry of Defence and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, will cost about £50.3 billion. Welfare, or Social Security, costs for the central government will come in at £71.4 billion, and central government education expenditures are budgeted at £44.6 billion. Interest on the national debt is estimated at £51.7 billion.

We estimate local authorities will spend about £179.9 billion in FY 2020. The biggest expenditure is £54.8 billion for welfare. Then comes £47.2 billion for local authority education, and £15.4 billion for protection: police and fire. Local authorities will spend £9.5 billion on transport, and about £50 billion on all other programs.

As the #GE2019 winds its weary way through November , the major parties are assembling,as they are wont to do ,their various versions of what amount of public spending ought or does or might or might not be accorded to the National Health Service.

And, of course ,the Labour Party ( all wings ) their Trades Union satrapies and all the  non-parliamentary "Left" are pitching their narrative,as usual in that it is only they and they alone who "care" are "compassionate" and exemplary humanitarians who look after the sick,the dying etc.

And short of a violent,bloody Bolshevik revolution ; no.there never ever will be sufficient monies to finance their Disney-fantasy version of a health service or anything else for that matter.

And of course they're the ones who make it part of their catechism never to raise the query as to where all this overwhelming additional demand and pressure on the NHS arises from in the first place.

Or on our education system or GP waiting lists or on the inadequate housing stock or the relative downward pressure on wages and worsening shortage of full time jobs.

They don't know about all of those either.

December 12 2019 :Polling Day seems to be a very long way off.And no doubt even as the days recede,they will actually get longer in the imagination.

Boredom and disinterest work that way. It's still only November 9th and the imaginary cheque-book is getting some unprecedented hammer from Labour on 1,000 new " Sure Start " centres - the ones the war-mongering Blairite Regime introduced and the Anti-Labour Coalition of 2010 basically shut down. And not to be outdone the  former conservative Tories and the  former liberal LibDems have also been ripping it up in the fantasy-capitalist prosperity stakes.More doctors,Nurses,infrastructure,blah,blah blah..

Oh, and the Greens aka The Green party (aka the political wing of the Vegan Taliban aka Extinction rebellion eco-millenarian cultists) have come up with a Trillion pound ten year project to take the UK back to the feckin Stone Age by systematically cleansing these islands of all industry.The Greens aim to raise 90% of the science-fiction epic funding through borrowing on the global money markets.

What the lentil-chewers omitted from their prospectus was the blindingly obvious - govts. raise money by selling interest rate Bonds to other govts -the ones with spare cash.Which means China.Who do not and will never support,agree to or otherwise allow their great nation & peoples to be suckered into the existential lunacy of eco-millenarian hysteria.It's what we call irony -Beijing being asked by a Green and no no doubt in time to come a Labour and Lib Dem regime to finance the annihilation of Great Britain and make a profit from it.

December 12 really is a looong way off.

A couple of days ago, the Labour Party issued its latest update on its Party line on the brexit process.We are to Remain imprisoned for an indefinite period within the Single Market as well as  the Customs Union.
The very shackles that have bound our Nation in servitude for decades to an alien authoritarian tyranny are to remain in place; this in the view of the British Labour Party constitues Brexit- the UKs departure from the serfdom of the EU !!
The following is my latest missive launched DPRK style to the local newspaper.

You may recall the failed Remain campaign that lost the 2016 EU referendum. More than 200 Labour MPs were at the heart of that discredited shambles including our own unrepentant antidemocratic zealot who despises her own constituents for having voted largely for #brexit.

 

Having been beaten once, the Labour Party, again are spearheading another vain attempt to in effect overturn the result of the very referendum which they singularly have refused to accept as legitimate.

 

Despite all the arrant nonsense from Keir Starmer and Chuka Umunna and idle bombast spewed out by the Labour Party and their deluded anti-brexit allies in various trade and industrial bodies,there is one all commanding fact which they wilfully choose to ignore in the hope that the electorate can be misled.

 

Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon gives the leaving country two years to negotiate an exit deal and once it's set in motion it can't be stopped except that the timescale of 2 years may be extended by unanimous consent of all member states.

 

Triggering Article 50 has started the clock running down.After March 2019,the Treaties that govern membership no longer apply to the UK.

On the day those treaties become null and void our trading arrangements with the EU revert to WTO rules.

 

The UK has no need to compromise on any single facet of its objectives.

They don't have to sit around a meaningless negotiating table and be continually subjected to condescending otiose cant and vituperative slander from the EU side nor its supporters in this country.

 

Lying and cheating on brexit and debasing the democratic will of the electorate on an epic scale not seen since Goebbels in 1930s Germany does nothing to enhance Labour's tawdry reputation. 200 of their MPs need to take urgent note or face the consequences.

Here's an interesting " fact " of the day from Brendan Chilton ,Director Labour Future UK :-

" 2017 Party Membership Project finds 77% of Labour's 560,000 members come from ABC1 social group and only 23% working class. Interesting."

Approximately two-thirds of Labour voters backed Remain and about the same proportion of Conservative voters backed Leave. The problem as seen by Labour, is that one third of the electorate that Labour have always haughtily assumed are " their " voters.

That's why the likes of Wakefield MP Mary Creagh along with 200 other pro-Remain Labour MPs ,even before the EU Referendum was announced early on June 24,2016,  fabricated the narrative that those voting Leave are in varying degrees -racist,xenophobic,ignorant,insular,stupid,backward,unsophisticated.uneducated. Not a solitary MP among that 200+ #LabourIn seditionist detritus has ever recanted those views.Not a single one of them.

It was only the gratuitously politically inept, organisationally incompetent,hare brained delusional half witttedness of Theresa May and her barmy Tory central office acolytes that in effect saved the careers of those 200+ #LabourIn metropolitan elitist EU shills from the proverbial well deserved Guillotine by calling for an unnecessary General Election  on June 8 2017.

From the son of Jack Straw callously weaponising the murder of their own colleague Jo Cox,to David Lammy inciting sedition and mob violence against the government from anti- brexit platforms; there is no murky recess of the political gutter that the Labour Party won't stoop to in order to frustrate,sabotage,postpone or annul the sovereign and inalienable Will of the British Electorate as constitutionally expressed in the EU Referendum of 23 June 2016.

One year on from #EURef and the same Metropolitan Elitists who were implacably opposed to the verdict of the Electorate then, remain so now.For them,the 23 June 2016 Referendum was only supposed to have been a superficial exercise in the obedient compliance of the electorate to the will of the Metropolitan / Globalist Elites. Fronted by the archetypal shill, Gina Miller, the same Elites having lost the vote count,attempted via Legal action to effectively impede the triggering of Article 50 by the Prime Minister's constitutional use of the Royal Prerogative.In spite of all the Elites' legalistic shamanism and invalidating the use of Royal Prerogative,in the end Parliament approved the triggering of Article 50 which  formally commenced the negotiations process countdown to actual #brexit two years hence. Any sane and rational person might've concluded that at last the matter of whether or not the UK was going to leave the EU and reclaim its historic destiny as a sovereign nation  state once more,had de facto been settled. Not by a long chalk as it turns out.The Metropolitan elites are far from done with their campaign of EU backed sedition. Spearheaded by the 200+ MPS of #LabourIn ,the hydra headed Remain camp were meticulous in their choice and use of language in the wake of what was for them the disaster of June 23 2016. They never ever admitted defeat let alone that they'd cease and desist from campaigning to overturn the #EURef verdict. Barely 72 hours on from the conclusion of counting the votes for #GE2017 and the UK polity is alive and well and full of vigour! The few sober minded Labour strategists who do actually know just WTF they're talking about, ( as opposed to the many ,000s of wannabe socialist/Leftist placardwavers and spouters of vacuous platitudes who never do ) Labour is a long, long way from achieving even the merest semblance of a victory over the used-to-be Conservatives. From the LabourList official internal email is the following analysis :-
We need to temper our relief and elation about these unexpected gains with awareness that there was a swing against us in many Midlands and Northern industrial heartland seats.   Our votes are not efficiently distributed around the country compared to the Tories because we stacked up “super majorities” in London and university town seats; and we need to gain at least 64 more seats, more than twice what we achieved on Thursday, to get a Labour Government with a majority of one.   A good case study of where the current strategy triumphed and its limitations is the Kent and Essex Estuary seats. Canterbury, with its many students, was a stunning gain, but the 11 more working class seats on both sides of the Thames that had been Labour in 1997 and in many cases 2001 and 2005 as well were not gained, and in most cases have Tory majorities of about 10,000.   We have to gain some of them to get a majority Labour government, and that will require a strategy that goes beyond the groups of voters appealed to this time.
Meanwhile,  the May Regime is cobbling together a de-facto alliance with the DUP. A putative arrangement that has drawn the ire of every conceivable Social democrat,socialist,marxoid,liberal,green,feminist,atheist,secularist,anti-Christian,advocate of sodomy and pre-birth human child exterminator under the sun. It's Saturday 27 May and the seemingly interminable British #GE2017 campaign trundles on.The last 48 hours have been notable in so far as the corporate MSM and social media spotlights have concentrated on the utterances of one J.Corbyn, putative leader of the opposition Labour Party, who apparently have aspirations of forming the next government of the UK. The PC metropolitan hipster in-house journal ,aka The Guardian published this astonishing item.

What does it mean,exactly, to be on the " right side " of history? Which ideological views do you have to have in order to be adjudged as being on that particular side and indeed, who does the judging on whether or not you are on,to use their term, the right side? All these questions of course will not receive an answer let alone any acknowledgement that they had even asked in the first place. It's all a bit Marxist-manque ; all overly deterministic in the manner of a poor and unsophisticated understanding of dialectical and historical materialism.It is an absurdist notion that if an individual or group or party would somehow be able to " correctly " interpret the movement ( or the laws of motion ) of history then they could formulate,campaign for and and at some nebulous future point in time implement the policies of the collective demands of the organised forces of the proletarian vanguard to the benefit of the exploited working masses . It is possible and it has been put into practice before.The experiment was deemed a success,but alas the subjects of that experiment either died horribly or were left severely traumatised. The grotesque insanity of any such claim as to being on the right side of history is so monumentally preposterous that there is no rational philosophical basis on which to even begin to make a reasoned or informed judgement. Labour whether of the Left or Right both equally are, just as the clowns of 1917 were, the direct progeny of 1789.They are the headchoppers.

For quite some time now,the intellectual capacity of the individual UK citizen to express their political preferences via the ballot box, has been called into question. Last year's EU Referendum campaign became characterised by the increasingly strident and intolerant discourse of the Remain campaign,that in effect labelled all those that voted Leave as amongst other epithets ,variously- ignorant/uneducated/racist/xenophobic/reactionary /little englanders/stupid/elderly/working class. Nearly a year on from the triumph of #brexit, and the very bodies,parties,prominent individuals and commentariat who engineered and drove that particular vehicle of vituperative mass slander and defamation are still about their nefarious business. It is therefore somewhat,but not altogether disquieting when the twisted Inquisitorial logic of the failed Remoaner campaign is employed within the context of this General Election campaign.

McCluskey said working class voters who say they are going to vote Tory for the first time are doing so “because their mind is being turned by the constant attack of the media on Jeremy Corbyn and the image that they’ve pinned on Jeremy.”

It is eminently fair and reasonable to assert that, a working class voter who might vote Tory will be doing so because they are exercising, of their own free will and volition, their inalienable democratic rights to express their own individual political preferences-for which no prior explanation needs to be given to anyone else as to why they voted the way they did. The likes of McCluskey assert that such a working class voter would only vote Tory because, as I am Len knows, it is because their mind is being turned by the media. This virtuous and far-sighted leader of the heroic proletarian vanguard doesn't digress and try to apply a similar analysis as to why a middle class or upper class voter might vote Tory or Labour or whatever. Their minds presumably are of an altogether different nature from those of the archetypal working class voter who needs to explain their motives to McCluskey's Stasi. Len knows all and cares fuck all about democracy.

Len - " I am Len " McCluskey was recently re-elected as UNITE union General Secretary on a membership ballot turn out of 12% .Wherein a three way contest he garnered less than half the votes cast; e.g the active consent equal to around 5% of the union's total membership.

I'm writing this blog post on May 16, that's 23 days shy of General Election Day here in the UK. And that is an awful lot of Mainstream Media ( MSM ) filler. The contrived controversies over minor variations in otiose and largely ephemeral policy differences between the respective contending major parties will, as is usual pass for what is and has been for generations now, political discourse. A phony significance is accorded to the ritualistic mummery of their manifesto launches. As if no-one could've possibly intuitively guessed at just what pretentious and unattainable gob-shitery would emerge from the various ideological orifices or how badly it would all just smell. I take a certain comfort from imagining just how much more febrile the atmosphere must have been like here in England during the Reformation or the Civil War. We could sure use some of that visceral,no holds barred genuinely contentious battle of ideas and clash of ideologies right now. Perhaps we have to make do with the lingering temper tantrums and threats to eject the few remaining toys from the Remoaner prams of the #brexit debate. Boring.
