On April 4th, the Labour Party will have a new leader. Starmer, Nandy or Long-Bailey.

The smart money is on Keir Starmer -chief Remainer,who has promised to campaign for the reintroduction of the EU's freedom of movement for labour. Given that to all intents and purposes Johnson's government has already pre-capitulated to the corporate globalists' agenda, Starmer's quixotic utterances on the issue are wholly inconsequential.

The substantive debate among the leadership contenders has been on the conjoined areas of gender and identity politics.

Whereas once upon a Class analysis of society time,Labour would address unemployment and poverty they are now consumed by men claiming to be women ,the "rights" of individuals to indulge in whatever sexual practices that they wish to and demand full public respect from the rest of society for doing so; ad infinitum . 

And on this egregious and wholly otiose basis some 600,000 individual party members will have the opportunity to cast a vote which in the end will determine who gets to lead the Labour party to its fifth consecutive general election defeat in 2024,which in turn will necessitate the Party having to choose yet another leader in time for 2029.

Once you abandon a sober-minded, Class based analysis of society ,concentration and centralisation of capital etc. you end up precisely where over 100 years of intellectually supine social democratic politics is at virtually without exception right across the continental land mass of Europe-at their historic pre-extinction nadir.

To borrow the line from Pink Floyd's, "dark Side of the Moon" ; I guess there's nothing more to say.

72 hours ago,on Saturday 8 November,Ireland held its General Election and things will never be the same again. Sinn Fein irrevocably emerged as a major player in Dublin politics,one that will have important and lasting consequences for the future structure and coherence of the United Kingdom itself.

The UK having gone through its own recent GE2019 in December still under the antiquated,shambolic FPTP system where a single party can emerge with an overall parliamentary majority of 80 seats having garnered around 30% of the votes cast contrasts unfavourably with Ireland's multi-member constituencies with proportional representation /preference voting that seems entirely ,rationally superior and reflective of and responsive to actual political preferences of the electorate.

The Brexit -powered revolution has a long way to go yet,but its initial dynamic cannot now be countermanded.In its wake as an ineluctable outcome,the UK's over-centralised government and administrative apparatus shall change and evolve.

More or less in some cogent and popularly acceptable fashion if we are fortunate.

Then again,given the UK's chequered history on such matters,perhaps not.

In these historically significant periods of imminent transition,giving the go-ahead to vainglorious, metropolitan elitist,crony-corporate capitalist white elephant projects aka HS2 is not what London ought to be concentrating on or doing.

I read journalist and commentator Peter Hitchens’ touching commentary in the Mail on Sunday making a rather compassionate case for the Labour Party somehow to be revived and restored somehow along the lines of what it once was perceived to be.

Well bollox to all that .Labour and its  “sister ” parties all across the continent of Europe,including the German SPD, have for quite some years now been undergoing a kind of existential entropy. It’s History’s way of telling political ideologies,movements and parties that the Cosmos has moved on.

Strangely enough when the post WW2 political order across Europe underwent its sea change around 1989, several of the ruling Communist Parties’ politburos and central committees actually consciously denounced themselves and voted themselves out of existence.They were my kind of Red.

Brexit happens in just over a fortnight’s time ,the UK is up and finally gone on 31 January.Which is a blessed relief,given that the EU /Soros funded  campaign and organisation of metropolitan elitist led antidemocratic treasonable sedition had all but seemingly scuppered the EURef2016 verdict.

A year of consistent achievement,innovation and progress seen on my many fronts -some personal,some of wider significance.And at the centre of them all,Wakefield. Now we know who's on the right side of History and whose analysis and insights accord with reality.

Her party political acolytes had long since prostituted and devalued the once impeccable stature of the Black Horse Poets - of whom Creagh had been appointed as Patron back in 2008- by relocating the group's base to the sectarian,party political shithole venue aka The Red Shed.

Their subsequent official ideologically motivated boycott of  the proceedings of #WakeyLit19-in the wake of Creagh's idiotic email came as no surprise.

This should be my final blog posting for 2019.

If nothing else the year brought to mind the time worn adage,attributed to Karl Marx, that History repeats itself,first as a tragedy then as a farce.

2019 is drawing to a close with the US House of Representatives voting to have President Trump Impeached.The so-called impeachment trial will take place in the US Senate,who it seems from a party partisan perspective will in effect nullify the charges which the Democrat party controlled House of Representatives have passed against POTUS.

The Democratic Party's insidious Long War to overturn the 2016 Presidential election result enters what are,its final stages.

The malevolent,anti-populist campaign that sought unceasingly to slander,defame,denounce and vilify Trump's upset victory over the odds-on favourite,globalist,deep state warmonger champion Hilary Clinton has now gone on for so long that the constitutional electoral cycle is now prepping for the 2020 Presidential election.

This particularly American Grand Farce had (has?) its mirror image here in the UK,where our domestic equivalent of the globalist deep state aka the metropolitan ruling elite aka the establishment had similarly conducted an EU financed campaign of slander,defamation,denunciation and vilification of the 2016 EU Referendum Result and all those whose Voted to Leave upset the elites' apple cart.

The Tory electoral triumph- with an overall Commons majority of 80 seats, led by a barnstroming PM Boris Johnson has finally drawn a line under the do we-don't we actually carry out the mandate for Brexit. Yes we bloody well do.

The UK's farce unlike the one across "The Pond",doesn't end in an impeachment or trial of any kind,but rather in a brutally divisive internecine Labour leadership contest of all whose putative candidates helped spearhead the EU funded,seditionist,metropolitan elitist run Remain campaign.

Oh,and on a more personal note, another one of the driving forces behind the Remoaners ,Mary Creagh's 14 year long occupation of the Wakefield parliamentary constituency as Labour's resident deluded haridan,ended in well earned ignominy losing the seat to the Tories who last held it in ...1932.

Well,that's one great big effing surprise if there ever was one!!

A 70+ seats overall majority and Labour's worst result since 1935.

Considering that my own best guesses were centred around a small Tory majority or essentially a hung parliament - you can never be too pessimistic when it comes to Election outcomes ;after all where would the overwhelming joy & mood of celebration be in the wake of a really great and unexpected triumph if  you had confidently predicted precisely that beforehand ? exactly; relief is part of joy,the thrill of the ride.

There was also the added bonus,the doubleplusgood  frisson of Schadenfruede  :-

Three weeks to go. Three very long weeks to go until Polling Day in GE2019.

And the strain is already showing amongst all the putative contenders for Office.

Being both dis-interested and un-interested in the final outcome,I have at least avoided the very worst of the symptoms of persiflage fatigue.

And persiflage is as good as it gets in respect of any utterances vaguely resembling well thought out,committed ideological and philosophical points of principle that define the character and motivation of any of the aforementioned putative contenders for Office.

A televised " Leaders Debate " live and unscripted,epitomises more than any other micro- electioneering phenomenon the utterly vacuous and worthless nature of the entire entire electoral process itself.

Brexit , emotional blackmail about the NHS , the fatuous climate emergency etc etc. are merely the irrational ramblings of a political class whose actual power and influence have long since been effectively usurped by the ruling metropolitan domiciled elites.

Superficially, as to the result hitting the headlines on the morning of December 13 ;I'll stick with - a) A very slender overall Tory majority , b) Labour the largest party but way short of a majority or c) Neither a or b.

December 12 2019 :Polling Day seems to be a very long way off.And no doubt even as the days recede,they will actually get longer in the imagination.

Boredom and disinterest work that way. It's still only November 9th and the imaginary cheque-book is getting some unprecedented hammer from Labour on 1,000 new " Sure Start " centres - the ones the war-mongering Blairite Regime introduced and the Anti-Labour Coalition of 2010 basically shut down. What is the difference between uninterested and disinterested?

"Disinterested" and "uninterested" have different meanings, but people are starting to confuse them. Grammar Girl has a trick for getting them right. An uninterested person is bored, unconcerned, or indifferent; a disinterested person is impartial, unbiased, or has no stake in the outcome.

 

Clearly therefore, I'm at one and the same time un-interested in the forthcoming General Election and dis-interested as to the eventual outcome of that election.

Once all the smart,sophisticated,considered,astute insights and observations from the Chief Priests of the MSM Commentariat have been aired and all the usual leading spokesdroids of the major parties have articulated their parties' propaganda ; the British Electorate will make its decisions pretty much as it always does and has done in that very short period of our History that has afforded our nation the luxury of representative parliamentary democracy based on universal adult suffrage.

 

All the whys and wherefores, ifs ,buts and maybes will get run into the ground just as they always are run into the ground through over-emphases ,hyperbole and otiose cant from all the contending parties and factions still masquerading as parties.

 

The archaic formulations of "Left" and "Right" have in actuality been rendered historically redundant by and during the Brexit question.The difficulty is that none of the major parties formally acknowledge the topography of the renewed political landscape and they all adamantly refuse to address the newly aligned populist sentiments,concerns and imperatives with a lexicon fit for purpose. We're in an rapidly evolving dynamic digital political discourse being conducted and expressed in an analogue frame of reference.

 

There ought to be for example, a broad rational consensus that every vote should carry equal weight and yet the UK's constitutional mechanism remains entombed by and subject to FPTP - first past the post where not all votes have equal value.

 

And as for the pre-eminent farrago of our times, to wit Brexit aka Leave the EU,the established parliamentary forces have been debating the possibility of actually implementing the result of the EURef 2016 for three and a half years.

Oh boy...

British Prime Minister Johnson reneged conclusively on his earlier solemn promise to actually die in a ditch if his government couldn't deliver Brexit on October 31st and that he wouldn't go back to EU to ask for an extension.

The EU have helpfully referred to their grand gesture as  a " flextension " and it is valid until January 31st. 2020, which of course is way past the original deadline of October 31.

We are now all hostages being held in a parliamentary purgatory where every conceivable ideological schism is surfacing in all the major parties and there are schisms within schisms.

In the round of course, the Remain campaign succeeded ages ago in effectively torpedoing Brexit.

The waves of Waitrose /Ocado home delivery loyalists and their pithily adorned placards with slogans had sod all to do with the effectiveness of the EU funded, largely Labour Party directed, seditionist enterprise that so remorselessly undermined and heinously traduced what had been the electorally triumphant Leave campaign and all those who voted Leave on June 23  2016.

What began as a farce has evolved into an ever greater farce.Public political discourse has been utterly debased and the very operation of our constitutional parliamentary system have been laid waste.

Thousands of protestors are set to march through London this weekend to demand the public is given a final say on Brexit.

Saturday's Final Say rally is expected to draw huge crowds of people to the capital calling for a vote on any EU withdrawal deal. The march will take place nearly a fortnight before the UK is due to leave the EU on October 31, and at the end of a crunch week for Brexit negotiations.

Organised by the People's Vote campaign, Together for the Final Say is the fourth march calling for a final referendum on any Brexit deal to be put to the people.

 

Here's everything we know about Saturday's demonstration.

When is the march taking place?

Campaigners are being told to meet at on Saturday October 19, at 12pm, with the march itself setting off at around 12.20pm. The head of the march is expected to reach Parliament Square at about 2pm, followed by a speakers' rally lasting 90 minutes. Not only is the date 12 days before the October 31 Brexit deadline, it is also the same date specified in the Benn Act as the deadline for a parliamentary Brexit deal vote.

The law, passed by MPs in September, compels Mr Johnson to request a three-month delay to Article 50 if Parliament has not voted to back a deal by this day.

And this weekend, an emergency Saturday sitting of Parliament could also go ahead for the first time since the Falklands War, meaning protestors could be gathered outside the Commons as MPs attempt to pass a Brexit deal inside. ************************************************************************************************************************************** What the last three and a half years of EU funded antidemocratic sabotage and legalistic shenanigans has done ,besides bollox up all other parliamentary business and the heretofore generally accepted norms of UK constitutional praxis, is utterly eviscerate a sense of what used to constitute Realpolitik.

October 31 draws ineluctably closer and with it the prospect of, " Brexit " actually happening.

The monumental rearguard action undertaken by the Remain campaign to sabotage ,delay ,impede and ultimately eviscerate Brexit as the legitimate democratic expression of the UK electorate in the EURef 2016 - has been to all intents and purposes successful!

There is, of course a price to pay for all their shenanigans and in all likelihood it will be a very heavy one.

Without recourse to muskets and halberds or judicial auto-da-fes , this country has gone through and to a large extent well into future will continue going through a significant period of historical political sea change on par with The Tudor Reformation of the 1530s and 40s as well as The English Civil War(s) of a Century later.

And in spite of the socio-economic driven ideological schisms that have affected all major parliamentary parties over the issue of  " Brexit ", to a greater degree these Parties have carried on with their various , parochial petty concerns with an astounding insouciance.Quite simply, contrary to all the alarms and noises generated, not one of them has been riven irredeemably apart.

The antiquated First Past The Post electoral system has in effect acted as the dead man's handle in keeping the parliamentary edifice from simply keeling over and crashing off the track.

The meteorite has hit and this time the Dinosaurs have refused to die. Lord Doherty said he believed the full hearing set down for next Friday should be moved forward to Tuesday or Wednesday.”

The judicial foray in Edinburgh is contemporaneous with virtually similar legalistic manoeuvres in London and Belfast.

Having insidiously slandered, defamed and demonised the 17.4 million, with a pathological intensity not heard since Josef Goebbels apogee ,the EU funded seditionist cabal are finding themselves desperately short of any appropriately nuanced denunciations of Prime Minister Johnson and his government.

The already lamentably procrastinating parliamentary persiflage lapsed quickly into the piteous ,uni-student common room agitator-manque speak ,best embodied by that fat stupid Scots twerp Ian Blackford whose record is stuck on calling our Prime Minister as a dictator.

Brexit having sucked virtually all the political debating oxygen out of the UK polity these last few years, has as I’ve posted before, curbed my penchant and enthusiasm for blogging from a previous average of 8 or 9 blog posts per month down to a bare average of 5 such posts per month.

And even that has me rummaging around , often in previous years for the really substantive posts on Brexit.

Even the predominant themes and issues currently holding sway in the West has been reduced to some kind of near-paranoia concerning The Peoples’ Republic of China and its economic prowess.

The imbroglio in Syria gets little coverage across the corporate MSM in comparison to what it once did 4 or 5 years ago.Mainly because the Syrian government forces with Russian and Iranian assistance have in large part prevailed.The US and its deluded EUNATO satrapies have neither the will,appetite or logistics any more to seriously alter the ,now seemingly ineluctable outcome.Only quasi-bankrupt Turkey under the egotistical maniacal leadership of Erdogan is still in position to perpetuate the looming folly of a third world war by accident or miscalculation.

Trump meanwhile causes barely concealed sniggering in enquring after the availability of Greenland for purchase by the USA.

Yes, it was ,as it turns out being serious. Snark turned to faux- outrage,compounded by his unilateral cancelling of a state visit to Denmark after their Premier stated the blindingly obvious that its territory of Greenland was not up for sale.

And in conclusion, even the last chance saloon ,eleventh hour desperate gamble against overwhelming diplomatic odds to force through Brexit by Premier Johnson seems to be to enamoured of caution and overshadowed by the ghost of premiers past such as May rather than the putative future seemingly vouchedsafe to the Leave voters.

If muskets and halberds were to hand,then all sides in the Brexit debate would by now have resorted to using them.

The current version of Leave / Remain -whatever happens next ,has the UK bidding the 27 adieu on October 31st.

The Brexit Secretary says he has “set in stone” the repeal of the European Communities Act 1972 — but the legal significance of this misleading claim is very limited

Earlier today, the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, Stephen Barclay MP, posted a tweet saying that he had “signed the legislation setting in stone the repeal” of the European Communities Act 1972 (ECA). (The ECA is the UK statute that gives effect to EU law in the UK’s domestic legal system.) He went on to assert that this is a “landmark moment” because it “underlines that we are leaving the EU on 31 October”.

I have signed the legislation setting in stone the repeal of the European Communities Act 1972. This is a landmark moment in taking back control of our law. It underlines that we are leaving the EU on October 31.

At best, this is misleading. All that Barclay has done is to bring into force section 1 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (EUWA). It says that: “The European Communities Act 1972 is repealed on exit day.” However, the effect of bringing section 1 into effect is decidedly modest. Most importantly — and, given the wording of the section, obviously — bringing that provision into force does not immediately repeal the ECA: rather, it only repeals it on “exit day”. “Exit day” is currently defined by section 20(1) of the Act as 31 October. But other provisions in section 20 enable the definition of “exit day” to be amended if the date of the UK’s departure from the EU changes under EU Law. Indeed, this is precisely what happened when extensions to the Article 50 period were agreed between the UK and the European Council in the spring.

There is no legal reason why this could not happen again — and, crucially, bringing section 1 of the EUWA into force makes absolutely no difference to this point. Whether section 1 is in force or not, it only produces legal effects from “exit day”. It follows that if, for example, Parliament were to require the Government to seek, and if the European Council were to grant, a further Article 50 extension, the definition of “exit day” could be further amended in order to ensure that the ECA was repealed only with effect from the new, later date of the UK’s departure from the EU.  This, in turn, means that — contrary to his claim — the Brexit Secretary has not “set in stone” the repeal of the ECA. The EUWA explicitly contemplates that “exit day” can be changed in order to enable it to be aligned with the actual date of the UK’s departure from the EU.

This leads on to a further, and critical, point. “Exit day” is a concept whose relevance liis wholly in domestic law. It is the date on which various provisions of the EUWA swing into action, in order to ensure that the domestic legal consequences of leaving the EU are appropriately managed — including by converting vast swathes of EU law into domestic law. However, the domestic definition of “exit day” has no bearing whatever on when and whether the UK leaves the EU. That is a matter that is governed exclusively by EU law. Similarly, whether the ECA is in force or not has no bearing on whether or when the UK leaves the EU — although if the UK were to repeal the ECA before leaving the EU, it would immediately be in breach of EU law. From this, it follows that whether the ECA is repealed or not is neither here nor there when it comes to whether or when the UK leaves the EU. All it is relevant to is whether, for as long as it remains a member, the UK does or does not comply with the legal obligations under the EU Treaties that are binding on it in international law.

All of this demonstrates that the legal significance of bringing section 1 of the EUWA into force is extremely limited. It does not “set in stone” the repeal of the ECA, because the legal meaning of “exit day” can be changed and the date of the ECA’s repeal deferred. It does not prevent the UK Government from seeking an Article 50 extension. It does not prevent Parliament from legislating to require the UK Government to seek an Article 50 extension. It does not prevent the European Council from granting an extension if the UK Government asks for one, whether of its own volition or at Parliament’s insistence. And it does not prevent Parliament, if it so wishes, from legislating to revoke the UK’s notification under Article 50, thereby stopping the Brexit process in its tracks. The politics, of course, are another thing. But any suggestion that ECA repeal has been “set in stone”, or that this somehow locks in 31 October as the inevitable date of the UK’s departure from the EU, is wrong as a matter of law. ECA repeal, and Brexit itself, are no more “set in stone” today than they were in the spring, when “exit day” was twice redefined in domestic law and the Article 50 period was twice extended as a matter of EU law.

.Just a little over 3 years ago, had Gove not betrayed Johnson's candidature for the leadership then we would have been spared the ReMAYner interregnum,the complete bollox-up of the 2017 General Election and yes,the UK would have left the EU .

An endless stream of tropes and slogans of treachery and betrayal have been injected into the political discourse that followed the EURef2016 triumph for Leave aka Brexit.

It's worth reminding ourselves what depths of hysteria the globalist corporations plumbed in their role as the battering ram for the Remain /Peoples Vote seditionist campaign. On this day 25 July 2018  I posted in fahrenheit451:336 :-

 The problem with the aforegoing tendentious remarks is, that in common with so many other similar stark warnings these last two years,the Remain campaign simply repeats itself ad nauseam.

Brexit might have already been consigned to constitutional oblivion by the metropolitan domiciled globalist ruling elites,but at least their paid-for political actors class are still managing to tear each other to shreds in what is supposed to be a staged re-enactment but is quite entertainingly going terribly wrong.
The under-rehearsed participants are actually believing themselves to be in a real world authentic constitutional political struggle,which of course from the audience /spectators’ point of view they are not,only seeming to be so for the sake of parliamentary verisimilitude.
A series of keenly contested highly disputatious votes was summarised by BBC ONline as:-

The amendments were “broadly in line” with government policy, which is why the government accepted them.
By 305 votes to 302 – with 14 Tories rebelling – MPs backed an amendment that prevents the UK from collecting taxes on behalf of the EU, unless the rest of the EU does the same for the UK.
Applying EU tariffs to products destined for the EU is part of Mrs May’s plan to avoid friction at UK borders after Brexit.
Another amendment, to ensure the UK is out of the EU’s VAT regime, was backed by 303 to 300, with a Tory rebellion of 11.
Three Labour MPs voted with the government.
The government won several other votes more comfortably, and the entire bill was then approved by the House of Commons by 318 to 285.

The Conservative/Labour duopoly itself, as entrenched defenders of the archaic FPTP which keeps them eternally as the two major parties,seems to be have been cast into existential doubt during the course of the parliamentary imbroglio of recent days. Leading Conservatives such as Dominic Grieve and Anna Soubry supported by leading Labour EU shills,openly advocate a government of national unity to replace the present ailing May minority regime.

Suffice it to say ” Schadenfreude ” ;at least for now.

In the rest of the world it's July 2019 but meanwhile back in Britain we're currently reliving March 29 2019 - the day,which according to the Law as enacted by parliament,said that the UK was to Leave the EU.

And still the global metropolitan elitist pantomime continues unabated.The Tories are about to select one of two barely competent careerist clowns as their next party leader and the UK's Prime Minister.

Their,now soon to be, predecessor gave her valedictory interview in which she confirmed everything that anyone with even half a grasp of  Realpolitik already knew.She really is a politically inept,spineless, wheedling caricature of a petty bourgeois waste of space.

And meanwhile the Fenian statelet run from Dublin was coming face to face with its own revelation of a Realpolitik moment.That moment when an insignificant failed nation state realises its own utter insignificance in the larger world of politics and international diplomacy.

Having spent decades kowtowing and generally sucking up to the German / French EU hegemons -allowing Ireland's naively conceived sovereignty to be pimped out by the Berlin -Paris Axis for the sake of Euro fiscal discipline ,having only done so on the understanding of being treated favourably in the future;the 1 euro-shop De Valera Fenians wake up to the ineluctable reality of getting thrown under the proverbial bus of what is the EU -Mrecosur free trade deal.

So much for having acted the willing ( if overly venal posturing martinet whilst doing so) shill  for Germany in its calculated strategy of crippling  the UK's departure from the EU by creating out of thin air the imbroglio of a " backstop " for a farm track border non-issue bereft of any actual material or other importance other than to Republican tobacco,alcohol and red diesel smugglers.
