Supreme court rules in favour of anti-abortion clinics in free speech case

Judges rule faith-based ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ are not obliged to tell women that free or low-cost abortions may be available elsewhere.

So reported the Guardian online on the June 26 announcement from the SCOTUS latest rulings. Other notable on the day rulings included the upholding of President Trump's targeted travel ban on citizens from a number of predominantly muslim countries to the USA.

Matters then generally seem to have improved a great deal in the wake of those SCOTUS decisions. The world is a sunnier place and liberal snowflakes get to bleed their consciences over the rest of us some more.

Those once towering bastions of corporate globalist MSM,such as New York Times and Washington Post, have gone so far as to concede defeat on the upholding of Trump's travel ban and acknowledge the importance to the Trump presidency of the SCOTUS decision.

And that's how it's meant to be in the US. Somebody challenges someone else's ruling /law in the Courts, there's an appeal, the original ruling /law is upheld or otherwise and then with both sides committed to their cause and the lower court rulings having implications for the Constitution it winds up in front of SCOTUS.

Liberals have for decades defecated all over the Constitution with their political appointees /careerist judicial cronies on SCOTUS approving.i..e rendering constitutional ,acceptable  and normalising egregious outrages such as abortion on demand ( Roe v.Wade 1973 ) ,sodomy and same- gender marriage. Liberals were only too happy,in those instances to extol the virtues of their wonderful tripartite separation of powers.

But not now. Everything is terrible,Trump is a maniac and America has morphed into some kind of quasi-fascist dystopia. Clearly it doesn't take much to upset the PC multiculturalist, globalist snowflake opinion formers and corporatist agitators of the Democratic Party and lesser ,vertebrae-free denizens amongst the Republicans.

And long may that state of fear and self-loathing continue; Schadenfreude is now in vogue!

On Sunday June 24,Turkey goes to the polls. It is very likely that the incumbent President Erdogan will be returned to office. In the event that he is,the Turkish state will undergo a radical transformation and the office of president will assume vastly enhanced powers to the detriment of both the Turkish parliament and judiciary as presently constituted.

The Turkish armed forces are currently illegally inside Syrian territory and are conducting military operations against indigenous mainly Kurdish militias as well as occupying Syrian villages, towns and cities; most notably Afrin, Idlib and Manbij.

The US also has its armed forces illegally inside Syria and is conducting military operations and occupying Syrian territory. They have gone so far as to divide up mutually conquered Syrian territory with their Turkish co-aggressors.

Which in purely International Law terms is utterly outrageous and without precedent. Not that the two NATO partner states have even bothered with the flimsiest of excuses, plausible or remotely otherwise in any attempt to legitimise their wanton warmongering conduct.

Israel supports all of this and why wouldn't they? they are the warmongering pariah state nonpareil when it comes to flouting International Law.

But the bigger problem for the foreseeable future, barring a near miraculous reversal at the ballot box on Sunday, is and will remain Erdogan.

Oh and by the way Erdogan still aspires that Turkey become a member of the European Union. And that is no longer a UK problem.

Or is it?

It is axiomatic that nothing undermines law and order more effectively than hysterical shroud waving pleas of exceptionalism.

But this is the UK 2018 and a couple of genuinely tragic and emotionally upsetting cases involving vulnerable, ill children have become corporate MSM headline fodder.

And nothing quite upsets the quotidian equilibrium as the pain and agony of a child plastered about everywhere and the Mother of such a child emoting.

The decadent, some would say inherently degenerate, metropolitan ruling elites and their kowtowing lackeys of the political class favour decriminalisation and/or legalisation of cannabis and have done so for decades.
Not only do they wish that the civilian populace remains ideologically compliant and docile but that widespread casual  and frivolous use of cannabis will reinforce this general state of affairs and in turn render a great service to those metropolitan liberal elites and their political lackeys.

The whole contrived farcical and facetious public discourse around this hue and cry over exceptionalism for the medicinal use of cannabis because of the otherwise untreatable suffering of innocent children,is the very epitome of cold, calculated cynicism by the proponents of cannabis addiction.

The last plank in the edifice of a scaffold that's been under construction since the 1960's, legalised /decriminalised cannabis fits in neatly side by side to abortion on demand, normalised sodomy,etc.etc.

And exploitative pictures of actual suffering children trumps reason, logic, even genuine compassion.

On March 2019, the UK's decades long membership of the European Union ends.

And then there's a transition period which the May Minority regime has negotiated in order to appease pro-EU Corporate interests. The CBI and others conjured up the utterly preposterous chimera of an economic /financial " cliff edge " that would do for the UK economy were such a transition period not in place.

And so on and so forth.

The House of Commons has embroiled itself in a legislative mess worthy of the mythic augean stables.
So Brexit in all likelihood is not going to take place,The only caveat to that is the innate cowardice of the ruling elites and their political class who, here in the UK,are historically incapable of telling it like it is to the people, especially when it comes to betraying the people's trust.

Clarity and decisiveness in political leadership and governance are utterly alien to the UK. History is littered with great turning points, pivotal to all succeeding societal development, being adulterated through weakness and procrastination.

And conformist/aspirational middle class dramaturgy is the battlefield for the not terribly convincing performances of ideological contention.

The Conservatives are split,Labour even more so on Leave,Remain and even on what kind of Leave and what kind of Remain. The Labour shadow cabinet under Corbyn has just recorded  its 103rd.individual resignation - that total is virtually half the number of Labour MPs .90% of the parliamentary Labour party have since Corbyn's election as leader. supported formal motions of no confidence in their own Party leader.

Faction above Party and Party above Country is endemic and institutionally entrenched through the maintetnance of the moribund and archaic First Past the Post electoral system.the most glaring and egregious dysfunctioning of which was highlighted starkly by the General election of 2015,where the 3rd placed party,UKIP gained 12% of the popular vote and only 1 seat.

The AfD with a similar vote share is now the largest single opposition party in Germany, ( their moribund decrepit Socialist Party  being in another Grand Coalition with Merkel's CDU ).

But we're not in Germany or Austria,Italy,France,Holland,Hungary,Czechia,Poland,Norway,Sweden,Denmark,Finland ( where Socialist and Liberal parties are now in irreversible historic decline ) where the much sneered at by Anglo-Saxon liberal elites' " populists " aren't so much a surge but a full blown tsunami of political revolt.

And so the very moment of the single most egregious historic betrayal of the British people in modern times is at hand.

Cry " Havoc!"..

There's a quote that's been mis-attributed to Winston Churchill about jaw,jaw being better than war, war.

it's a good quote,mis-attributed or not. Back in January 2003,I planned and curated a Poetry exhibition at Wakefield Cathedral on the Iraq war at the time using  the title , "Jaw,jaw war, war". Anyhow...

It's a good day today, June 12 2018 ; the world has opted for more life in preference to nuclear self-immolation.

Presidents Trump and Kim Jong Un shook hands and called each other friend.

And the Washington DC neocon neanderthals and their liberal global interventionist cousins are pissed off beyond belief.

Clearly they didn't see this one coming or they might with the benefit of hindsight in the next few days,as the new reality sinks into their troglodyte consciousness, claim to have done so but are not best pleased about it at all.

The inimitable practitioners of Realpolitik such as Bismarck and Talleyrand however, would no doubt be enormously pleased at the success of the Singapore summit.

Trump has brilliantly blindsided the very neocon hawks who had supposed that it was they who had taken Trump's vision hostage and had cowed him into submission to their nefarious schemes.

The thing is,that might still be partially the political / ideological status quo. Syria,Iran,Israel are still on countdown to something infinitely far more dangerous than whatever the state of the present multilateral imbroglio is in.

Yet, Trump and Kim Jong Un with the energetic involvement of China,South Korea and Japan riding to both their rescues have pivoted the world away from nuclear hellfire and damnation.

And the Obama/Clinton democrat liberal global interventionists and the McCain/Bush/Cruz reptilian republican neocons who want a Forever War are now wallowing in their own customised slough of despond.

And Schadenfreude is their only companion.

Had the Conservatives in their 2015 GE manifesto promised to hold,if returned to office, an advisory only referendum on UK membership of the EU -history really would have turned out ...portentous crescendo of music... a bit different, but not much.

They chose, instead with full cross party parliamentary agreement to make the result of the Referendum binding. The itinerant Westminster careerist benchwarmers believed, even as they promulgated this measure, that the 23 June 2016 EU Referendum would come out in favour of Remain. The entirety of the metropolitan domiciled ruling elites ,the entire Oxbridge / Public School alumni that constitutes the MSM Commentariat - all knew for certain that the Electorate when asked to approve of the UK remaining  a servile satrapy of the EU,would give their supine consent at the ballot box,no problem.

Except of course, that they didn't. The majority of the Electorate chose instead to exercise their too often muted sovereign will by asking to be set free from the yoke of EU bondage and for the release of Great Britain from the serfdom of the 4th.German Reich.

And for the next two years, the metropolitan elites unleashed a continuous propaganda barrage of unmitigated class-hatred savagery toward ordinary working class people and all those who expressed even a modicum of traditional amiable, patriotism and had,in the elites' view made a mistake in voting Leave.

The Religious Reformation of the mid -16th .Century and then the Parliamentary v. Monarchical Absolutism engendered Civil War of the 1630s and 40s are probably the nearest comparable historical episodes to the present interminable constitutional imbroglio that has consumed almost the entirety of the UK polity in dissension, factionalism, mutual antipathy and unreason.

The Remain campaign has proven to be the more determined of the two.It has used the bigger lies, the greater misinformation and the more vituperative slanderous mis-characterisation of their opponents in the Leave side than has been the case vice versa.

Ultimately The Reformation ended up,in hindsight as a dog-eared,pretty much heavily adulterated theological compromise that fell far too short of being genuinely Protestant as envisaged by either Luther or Calvin and which would have made for a far better and purer modernity and Society. Equally the English Civil War period delivered far less than had  been aspired to by so many.Annual parliaments, universal male suffrage etc. Though many substantial reforms did actually occur, the monarchy was back by 1660.

And so we come to it...more portentous music....on June 12. Though he prattles on in his usual peremptory condescending Blairite metropolitan elitist manner -as if June 23 had never happened, leading EU shill Labour MP and Remainer Chuka Umunna ,said: "It is absolutely outrageous for the government to allocate just one day to a debate that promises to be crucial for the future of our country."

"This is a shameful attempt by the government to avoid difficult questions about the chaotic mess they've made of the Brexit negotiations."

And perhaps he's got a valid point.

The rest including the latest egregious faux-pas from Boris Johnson is simply theatre, another act in a pantomime slowly unwinding from the fabric or the reality of our everyday lives and concerns.

The People shall not forget this treasonable betrayal of their Sovereign will, neither shall they forgive those who carried out that betrayal.

Bring on the Schadenfreude,it's time.

The Republic of Ireland recently conducted a plebiscite on the question of whether or not the legislature ought to repeal the amendment to the Constitution that gives protection to the life of the unborn. This is disingenuously called by its detractors  the anti-abortion amendment.
64% of the registered Irish Electorate turned out to vote on May 25. 66% of whom voted to repeal the 8th Amendment.

So on the empirical basis of significantly less than half of the 3 million plus electorate voting for repeal, the supporters of " Together4Yes " and corporate MSM everywhere declared a " landslide victory " for the proponents of unrestricted,state-approved extermination of the pre-birth humans.

The British Prime Minister, referred to in one news report as , " a practising christian " (seriously!) immediately congratulated those who'd campaigned for the Repeal of the 8th.Amendment. She was followed in short order by an unruly stampede of PC metropolitan-based virtue-signalling well wishers.Hardly any time had passed when all the major and minor UK parties called,in one way or another, officially or otherwise in the media for Northern Ireland to amend its laws on abortion to bring it in line with that foreign country on its southern border.

As an inveterate campaigner for the protection of the inalienable rights of pre-birth humans, I found that Peter Hitchen's views and assessment of the issue, from the Mail on Sunday of 3 June sum up incisively all that I want to say.

03 June 2018 1:58 AM

" This is pretty much the end of Christian Europe. The old Commandment 'Thou Shalt Do No Murder' has been repealed, by the Irish vote to legalise abortion on demand.
There has always been some leeway about killing – mainly self-defence and Just War. But the great religion that formed European civilisation was always against the destruction of innocent life.
What follows isn't an argument about whether or even when abortion is right or wrong. I'll leave that to you. It is about what abortion is, and how the law works.
Oddly enough, when Britain relaxed its abortion laws 50 years ago, the issue wasn't as clear-cut as it was for Ireland last month. In the 1960s, we knew far less about unborn babies than we do now. There were no ultrasound scans.
The miracles of medicine which nowadays frequently save tiny premature babies were unknown.
It was much easier for supporters of abortion to believe that unborn babies weren't really human – a belief they spread by their use of the chilly Latin word 'foetus'. They don't use Latin to describe anything else in their lives, so why do they use it in this case?
It was also possible to claim, as the legalisers did, that making abortion easier wouldn't turn it into a form of contraception.
Back in the 1960s, they argued it was all about a small number of desperate women forced against their will to have babies through no real choice of their own.
Who believes that now, when Britain has 180,000 abortions a year, many of them involving women who have undergone the procedure more than once before?
There was also a claim that there were many thousands of dangerous back-street abortions. But seek facts on this, and you will run into trouble.
At the time, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (in the British Medical Journal of April 2, 1966) said of such claims: 'These are without any secure factual foundation of which we are aware.'
They said there were, on average, 50 fatal abortion attempts each year in England and Wales. This was undoubtedly tragic and gruesome, but did it really justify legalising abortion on demand?
Most people don't realise that before 1967 many legal abortions were already taking place in Britain (about 3,000 a year in NHS hospitals, probably many more in private clinics), just much more tightly regulated.
In short, Ireland has no real excuse for rushing to copy this country, which had taken its decision on the basis of several false assumptions, and in some ignorance of the facts about the unborn.
We went too far and still can't work out what to do about it. And Ireland had plenty of reasons to pause, or be a good deal more cautious.
But this was just as much about the overthrow of Ireland's Christian past as it was about abortion.
For good reasons and bad, much of Ireland has turned its back on its own faith. And, like the rest of Europe, it has embraced the new religion of Selfism, whose chief commandment is 'Nobody has any right to tell me what to do with my own body'.
You can see why people might want to punish the Roman Catholic Church, which has certainly allowed and hidden sexual abuse and brutality.
But these things are not unknown in secular liberal organisations, from children's homes and old people's care homes to the BBC and the police.
Abortion has become a rallying point for the Selfist faith, a test of the new post-Christian version of virtue. How else can we explain the mad calls (many of them from 'Conservative' politicians in this country) to force Northern Ireland to follow suit?
These demands make no sense at all. The whole point of Ireland is that it is separate from the UK.
The whole point of devolved government in Stormont is that Northern Ireland makes its own rules on such things.
If Northern Ireland decides to relax its abortion laws, then the fact that Ireland has done so has no bearing on the matter at all.
The truth is that modern abortion campaigners are fervent dogmatists who impose their new ideology everywhere, on any excuse. They know the truth about it. But they don't mind. They want a very different world from the one we grew up in, and now they are going to get it.
And once one vulnerable, voiceless minority has been classified as less than human, who will be next? "

Here I Stand,I can do no other..
