As the self-righteous stench of piety threatens to smother the current public discourse on NHS Reform here in Britain,it's worth recalling Mid.Staffordshire NHS Trust.1,200 more patients than expected died at hospitals run by the Mid-Staffs.Trust between 2005 and 2008.The minutely detailed published list of the failings at that NHS Trust;in all aspects of nursing care through to clinical incompetence and patently dysfunctional administrative bureaucratism would have shamed the very worst of Soviet Gulags. And yet we have the likes of "Baroness" Williams reprising her all too familiar role of Secular High Priestess of Piety and pronouncing opprobrium on anyone who might wish to deviate from the inherited dogmas of Health-Stalinism.
